I would think you could install the beta on your pc as you have her login info and it should be tied to her account

Grand theft auto 4 is backwards compatible today. I used to have the game but traded it in a long time ago and now I'm itching to play it again. Niko, lets go bowling! Hahaha

Might be time for some Amazon hunting. Probably can find it cheap

Seems like MS is going to reveal the next Xbox this week.

Why for iyo?

Open question to the thread: I've got the fox app so I can't watch simpsons and whatnot. I am able to pin Simpsons and Bobs Burgers to my home page but it won't let me pin FX's Legion, which is in the fox app and has an option for Pin.

It says that it's pinned, but it doesn't actually show up. Have tried unpinning and repinning a few times, plus unpinning a few other apps to see if it helped. Nothing.

Thoughts?

Not sure I like the new Xbox one dashboard. Can I revert back to the old one? Probably not. Just wishful thinking I guess. Just feels clunky now

MS have revealed the specs through DigitalFoundry. MS seem to have built a fairly impressive machine. Can't wait to hear more.

Being compared with a Gtx 1070 in terms of performance running forza 6 4k/60fps. Less than 70% GPU usage on setting comparable to ultra PC settings. Like what I hear so far

Yeah would really like to know the price, but on paper looks good.

It's quite nice. A slightly better PS4 Pro, improvements in all areas. A bit underwhelming given the amount of hype and bluster, but pretty much what I was expecting to see. An almost exact reversal of the "power gap" from the beginning of the generation.

Should be great for Xbox owners looking to upgrade, not sure how it will fare otherwise. Price announcement will be interesting. Digital Foundry guess at $499.

Yeah it still needs software though and that's something MS are lacking imo. It's great how it enhances Xbone/360 games but I don't see power alone selling many consoles unless there's some decent exclusives.

Is MS trying to kill traditional console cycles with the Xbox One X and go to a model that similar to smartphones? Apparently you will be able to play Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox games on the new console. Kind of like how apps will run on an iPhone 7, 6s, 6, etc.

No, imo - although there is a small chance they might try when next-gen arrives (my guess is Fall 2019 for PS5, then MS to do a similar "bit later, bit more powerful" - but who knows lol).

The new console is still an Xbox One - last year's xb1S or even the OG model can play already Xbox One, select Xbox 360 and now select original Xbox games. It's just got a honking great upgrade to the GPU, so it's more suitable for playing normal Xbox One games at or near 4K, instead of at or near 1080p.

They did make some statements this time last year, "The end of generations", "Nobody left behind" and such. So perhaps they will attempt to make "Xbox Two" games all be compatible with Xbox One X also when it releases - but I think that makes no sense and won't be possible with the ancient and weak CPU common to all this generation's consoles. It would seriously hamper the next gen model if it was held back with the requirements for the 2013 model to run the same games.

edit: If you're wondering if you'll be able to play Xbox One (and a growing selection of 360 / OG) games on a future "Xbox Two", that's looking almost certain.

I think after the X you'll see another console in the one "family" come out that will replace first Gen one with enough upgrades to last it another cycle.

I don't honestly think we will see another console generation from Microsoft. They've already shown they are going in a different direction with now 3 different consoles of different power all able to play the same games. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go with just the two levels of system. One entry level that can play the games and one like the X that has the bells and whistles and can add graphical improvements

After the X launches Xbox will bascially have a PC set up. You'll be able to play games from all generations and have a low end mid range and high end options.

What I'm saying is, as much as that is how they are positioning their models in the market - it can't work when an actual next-gen machine comes out. Also "three tiers" is really stretching it.

These aren't three varieties of PC - they are all near exactly the same PC, with different options for graphics card - a Geforce 650 4GB, a Geforce 650 Ti 4GB (prob not even such a jump), and then a Geforce 970 8GB.

This statement contradicts itself totally imo.

They are the same PC accept for this one massively central component which is massively different is not really a coherent position.

Also the GPU has 12GB compared to 8GB in the previous two and the processor is 2.3GHZ v 1.8GHZ.

Also think your comparison to a 970 is maybe conservative:

But don't mistake the GPU specs in Scorpio for equivalent PC power. There is no chance in hell the Scorpio's graphics power is anywhere near that of a Titan Xp just because it has the same amount of memory. If you were to buy something equivalent, expect an AMD RX 580 or GeForce GTX 1060, but those desktop graphics cards have less video memory.

I thought the system has 12gb and the gpu has 9gb available for use?

Yea probably, but even after overhead that is still 1GB more than is available over the previous models.

So it has more memory, a faster processor and a better GPU, but apart from that its exactly the same PC.
