I joined a Heroic DS 10man to go for the title tonight. I joined at 11:45, thinking it would be a fast run. We filled it with 10 people and bulldozed up to Spine. We spent 20 minutes waiting for some afk shadow priest on Spine (granted she's doing insane DPS - fully decked out in heroic ToT gear only missing Animus, Lei Shen, and Ra-Den kills) and now we keep wiping on Madness. We've had him to 1 HP but I guess we have to kill the bloods too. Now we're dealing with people who don't know what battle rez is and tanks that keep dying to impale. We're almost 3 hours in to this and I don't know whether to stab my eyes out or cut my losses and go to sleep. This far in I just want the damn title but I'm about ready to settle for just all but one heroic achievement.

Heh, or someone could just switch to a healer and we kill it the next pull no problem.

Ok just resubbed because a few friends of mine resubbed so I figured why not try the game out again for a month. I haven't played since pandas release and decided to play my dk this time around cuz I was tired of healing. So i leveled my dk 89-90 and have a 435 ilvl. What is the best way to gear up for raiding? I've been doing 5 mans and some random scenarios which dropped me a 463 weapon so thats cool but what else should I be looking to do? Any daily quests or quest lines worth going for?

I doubt any of the old dailies are going to be worth it unless you can get the bonus rep from your other character, and even then it might not be worth it. You should definitely be doing the isle of thunder dailies if you can.

Other than that, get high enough for lfr (there should be lots of boes available if you have gold), make sure you get 20 tokens per week from the weekly scenario that the key lets you do, and do lfrs till you run out of tokens.

Tokens also work on Sha of Anger and Galleon. It won't take long to get to 480. Spend your first 1250 Valor on a 522 neck piece from the Shado Pan Assault vendor.

If you have gold buy the 522 smith gear but your better have a lot.
Grab yourself a treasure room run, then run LFRS and use bonus rolls on every boss if you have tons of tokens do them again and just BR them
Get the SPA neck as mentioned. Dont waste valor on old rep gear

PVP gear with your honor /conq, que BG's between waiting on LFR's [trinkets and rings since you will likely replace this last/w valor ]

you can be 480 in like 2 days if lucky and 5 if unlucky.

The Paladin from me and Low Key's guild back in Cataclysm is doing well. He's currently tanking for Encore and just killed Ra-Den.

A guy I healed with for a little in my past two 25-man guilds is in Blood Legion now. Interested to see if he's in any of their progression kills next tier, that would be kind of cool to see someone you've played with in some top ranked kill videos.

Strange turn of events, gizmo tried to get me playing again.

Read up a little on the ptr patch notes, and god damn, if you guys on merging or linked or wtf ever they're calling it servers haven't made your fortune yet, do it now. One AH across multiple servers? **** me, if I hadn't quit I'm pretty sure that might make me.

Our raid has gotten up to Meg but we've had various people gone for the last week so we've been kind of banging our heads against a wall without a full team. The 5.3 Barrens stuff is pretty fun, I just got there on my Mage. There are lots of mobs to farm and tons of loot. I'd left the Lorewalker Cho questline untouched until now.

Lately I've been getting in to PvP again. 'tis still fun. I've been running a lot of 2's as Frost Mage/Survival Hunter. I was pleasantly surprised at the change that lets you get as much Conquest as you want up to the season max. So I still have 3 or 4 thousand that I can grind next time I log on if I want. That's a nicer alternative than the old way, where if you miss a week's cap then those points are gone forever. I'd been getting alt-itis again before starting up PvP. I like Monk tanking a lot.

I like telling people to resub but seriously, this game is a time sink like none other. If you're happy not playing, then don't resub. If you think you'd have more fun playing, then come on back - someone will rez you.

btw are any of you guys actually raiding semi legit? I need a new raid like 9 pm est 2-3 days a week with ppl who can get **** done.

I think we're one solid healer away from clearing most of ToT.

I play just an hour or so a day and enjoy it. I don't really enjoy raiding so much as levelling alts though.

Not really. I unofficially fill in for gag reflex's casual group when they need someone, but that's about all I do raiding-wise now. It's been really nice not needing to be on every night to raid. But then again, thats what I told myself when I joined them at the end of last tier, so who knows how I'll feel at the start of next tier, I'll probably start missing it again.

Nah, I haven't really played WoW since my guild fell apart. While I kinda miss raiding, it's pretty nice not having to be on a certain time every 3-4 nights.

Plus, Holy Paladins being nerfed into the ground (or so I've heard) isn't making me want to come back any time soon, either, lol. I'd have to run LFR to get T15 bonuses to get into a guild, most likely, and **** doing that.

How long do you need to be away to get a scroll of resurrection? I haven't played for quite a while but am considering coming back. I want convenience!

I broke away from the game for awhile but recently really got playing again, when i raid I want to do things and my group has been ******ed all expac and I finally had enough.

I want to get in some place before 5.4 so I can feel decent with that group. But alas everyone is recruiting for heroics and since my guild is now at the turtle I look weak..

I kinda miss WW, but I have nowhere near enough time to play it.

Also, I dunno about nerfed (haven't really followed as closely as I used to) but after playing a priest I don't think I'd ever go back to holy paladin for pve. Holy paladins don't have enough different buttons. Priests have all the things (pre-heals, HoTs, Shields, like a billion different types of AoE heals) Paladins have good single-target burst healing but they feel so one-trick-pony to me now.
