I can't get over how the quest that is supposed to take you to Argus has you reporting to Stormwind Harbor. It's silly but I think it left me predisposed to be skeptical of the storyline.

day 1 for wow has a what's next panel, and a bit later, one called "Voices of Blizzard - The Powerful Women of Warcraft"

Now, this could mean one of two things. First, they're just highlighting females in WoW/Blizzard for no raisin.

Second, that panel has something to do with the next xpac.

Sure, the current direction of legion makes it seem quite likely that there will be some focus on the void, such as a void vs light xpac where both sides are equally as bad. The focus on strong females in WoW could mean that either Jaina went crazy and is going all voidy, or maybe sylvanas will be a strong focus. Sylvanas' story did kind of peter out after stormheim, from the little i've seen of the horde storyline. (2 hordies to 110) Maybe they want to expand on her importance.

Then again, Jaina is the face of blizzcon this year, so that seems pretty important and significant.

I am pretty sure I had 4pc of Tomb tier at some point. A few days ago I bought one of the 910 items from the Argus vendor to replace my chestpiece. Just yesterday I noticed that I no longer have 4pc, and I'm hoping that I didn't somehow replace my chest without realizing it was tier. I definitely vendored the piece I replaced. Hard to believe I would do that

Wild speculation is that some new skins in the db might mean subclasses are coming next xpac. I can’t imagine something that would affect me so little but which I’m oddly interested in seeing.

I can’t wait to grind STV basilisks for a month straight just to get a trinket that does nothing!

Yeah the only reason I can see people wanting Vanilla WoW is if they never actually played it.

- Weeks/Months getting to level cap
- Progression for 90% of players ending in blue dungeon gear
- 6 hour Molten Core raids that wipe on Garr
- Having to scrape together gold just for repairs
- never getting an epic mount

Probably 75% of my WoW time was at Vanilla and while it is one of my gaming experiences I remember fondly and have tons of memories about i would never want to play it again, past a couple hours for the novelty.

nah, nostalgia is a hell of a drug. Won't last though.

I have zero interest in playing the current version of WoW, but I'd really enjoy sometimes playing either vanilla wow or burning crusade.

The things you mentioned, Daer, appeal to me, even if I won't want to heap tons of time into it.

Heart of Azeroth, medallion artifact from the world soul, azerite gathers into it, unlocks things in your armor. Stronger armor requires more azerite to fully empower.

Island expeditions, 3 player coop scenarios, essentially. Dynamic objectives, race against advanced AI opponents or other players

Warfronts, large scale battles at home. Similar to old Warcraft RTS. 20 player coop raid vs npc armies. Gather, build, upgrade, train troops

PvP stuff, silithus has lots of azerite, wonder why, coming in 7.3.5 as well. World pvp discussion time. End of pvp/pve servers? Confirmed. All just a choice now, opt in or out. Helps balance where you end up, so you’re not overwhelmed by opposing faction. Bonuses to offset inefficiency (extra xp and whatnot)

I'd really like it if BC was included but they specified "vanilla" so I doubt it will be (although BC could be quite grindy as well).

Playing vanilla is so much different now than 10+ years ago. This is mostly because everyone actually knows how to play/min max entire raids perfectly these days. There are new add-on's for 1.12 are being developed right now.

Levelling to 60 and gearing for pre-raid does still take some though. The average I think for 1-60 is about 9 days /played. But it's a much more challenging/enjoyable experience than any modern MMO imo.

That's the best part of vanilla, everything isn't spoon fed to you, you've gotta make some friends to get **** done.

So yeah, these days a good guild clears MC in 35-40 minutes pretty easily!

Could that be because the mobs aren’t actually the same ones from vanilla?

They actually overturned the HP values for the most part. (on the popular priv servers right now)

It's faster now because these raids are super optimized (routes and strats). After that you just need a bunch of rank 14s.

I mean I'll admit a 30min run is a speed run. That's not average atm. And there are vanilla raids that are much, much worse slogs than MC. (AQ40 and Naxx).
