Ordered this. Picked up Rayman Origins for £10 too!

Went into a local Gamestop to get Halo 4 and they had a WiiU playable there. Holy **** was it fun. The tablet controller is extremely responsive for the ~5 mins I was able to play around on it, comparable to something running IOS6 or Android 4.1+ if anyone knows how smooth those OS's are for touch, it just felt "right"... Also I have never played a Rayman game ever, and the only demo that one could play was Rayman Legends and it was very fun, I have to say.

It did not have 100% functionality, as it was in demo mode or something but it def. was cool to play with for a bit at least.

What are the prices like in Australia? It's loads more expensive here than in the US .
Damn wish we had that deal here. We got the standard Australian treatment with prices. Deluxe is $429. Game prices vary though. NSMB U is $79 so I'm going to pick that up on launch day. I'll be buying the rest of my games from the UK though. Going to order ZombiU and a pro controller. Thinking about getting AC3 as well and maybe even Scribblenaughts.

Edit - In fact, a Wii remote plus with Skyward Sword is cheaper than a Wii U remote plus, lol. I'll probably get that since I still haven't played it for some reason despite being a huge Zelda fan.
There's no difference at all. Definitely get Skyward Sword, it's amazing.

That order (from Game) fell through for some unknown reason but I ended up getting the same stuff for £20 cheaper from hmv. I got the ZombiU pack rather than the Nintendo Land pack as you get a pro controller so it works out cheaper, then ordered NSMBU and NL separately. I can see ZombiU being a bit of a let down as you mentioned earlier but my girlfriend likes Zombie games so I figured I'd get it anyway, plus it comes with the pro controller which I want.

Lol at them selling Wii U motion plus for £20 more when the only difference is the U on the controller! Yeah gonna get Zelda with the gold remote (which is cheaper than a Wii U remote lol); my Wii usage has mainly been virtual console for the last couple years so there's still a few recent Wii games I need to play.

Btw I read that the downloadable stuff will be ready by Japanese launch, which is a week after it comes out here I think.

LOL @ the Wii U motion plus vs. the Wii motion plus

I love Nintendo but I'm getting a little tired of them constantly insulting our intelligence

Over twice as good as the 360 as PS3 versions according to that score (they gave those versions a 3, lol).

GamesMaster magazine has reviewed Nintendo Land (86%) and New Super Mario Bros. U (82%). The IGN reviews for those two games go up tomorrow.

They have a Wii U at Best Buy. But it was disappointing because they had only one demo game that worked, Rabbids Land.

If I didn't have a 360, I might consider a Wii U. But since I do have another system, the Wii U would have to be super incredibly awesome for me to get it. As it is, I would probably only get one game for it (Mario). No matter how good that game is, no way it is worth $300.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I'm content with PC and PS3 gaming and can't see buying Wii U for 2 or 3 games.

I doubt Nintendo will still support the Wii.

Yeah if you're only having one console and are not particularly bothered about first party Nintendo games then you're probably best off waiting for the next XBOX/Playstation. The Wii U will be the weakest of the three technically and will get the worst ports again. But as long as they release awesome Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Kart and Smash Bros. games it's worth getting imo, and those games will come eventually so I figured why not get one now? ZombiU looks pretty fun and the Mario game will be good as always (plus I never played NSMBW so it's more of a new experience for me). I can understand most people's reservations about getting one though and am surprised they've sold out at most places to be honest.

Btw my order got cancelled again (was a problem on my end, sorted it now), so I ended up getting it from shopto for just over £400 (deluxe with Nintendo Land, NSMBU, ZombiU and a pro controller). Their prices are pretty good if anyone from UK is interested.

By the way those IGN scores are a bit higher than the general consensus so far; Mario currently has 84% on gamerankings and Nintendo Land has 76.33%. Those are only based on 11 and 9 reviews respectively though so probably not too accurate yet.

The ign review on nintendoland is up. God damn I want a wii u so bad. Wii has the best party games hands down.

I have a 360 with kinect and ps3 but I'll probably end up getting a wii u as well. Mario chase and luigi's mansion looks awesome!

Gotcha. I've got a wii because it was a gift, but I don't plan on getting a wii-u any time soon. Bit frustrating though that the wii's game selection was pretty garbage and out of the gate the wii-u will have fighting games and shooters other than COD.

There are plenty of great games of all genres on Wii if people are willing to open up their eyes and not already have that incorrect attitude.

And between now and the next few years is the best time to get Wii games you never played but wanted to at a reduced price. I did the same with Gamecube, and it lasted me a few years into the next cycle until I really had to have the next generation to play anything I hadn't already.
