heres what i want. to play the following games: counterstrike source, dod: source, tfc 2 and the sims 3. ah and let's not forget D3 whenever that comes out. also note I have a 24" LG LCD (monitor for my laptop)

"US, June 8, 2009 - E3 2009 came and went with no announcements of hardware price cuts from either company. This left many fans scratching their heads. Publishers, meanwhile, even came away disappointed. But not even a full week after the event have rumors of slashed prices starting to seep out.

Analyst Arvind Bhatia from Sterne Agee, an investment firm, reports (via Gamedaily) that sources say Sony will lower the price of the Playstation 3 by $100 this summer.

"Industry sources indicate Sony is planning a $100 price cut on the PS3 in mid-August, just prior the launch of Madden (8/18) and the start of the back to school shopping season. This will naturally be a positive for the industry," said Bhatia.

It will be interesting to see what happens the rest of the year. We should expect a price cut of some sort with most of the consoles in the next 6 to 10 months. But August seems a little too early."

Good thing I gave the game another chance. That game gets addicting later on. Drug dealing is broken because it's so easy to make money doing it. I have over $100k, and am still getting $300 or so for completing missions. Who cares about $300.

But, broken or not, it's still fun.

I never finished GTA4 and decided to play it for a little bit today after not playing it for ~7 months or so. My current mission says Dust Off (ULPC mission Chapter2 says faq) but I don't see them anywhere on the map. I have all the island unlocked and was def doing missions in the third chapter like Blood Brothers (but cant remember who i killed) so this seems weird. The only person I see on the map is Ray although I just randomly found badman and killed some Russians. I really need to learn how to finish games as I have no idea wtf I'm doing.

Started playing the demons (Legion) on Disciples 2: Dark Prophecy. Uh oh, tougher than I thought.

Played the Undead most of the way through with a warrior hero and it was decent but unspectacular. Played it with a ranger hero(nosferatu) and wow was it a ton of fun after the first few tough levels. I'd love to keep that character to play in expansions, but maybe I should just use it to play in skirmish maps instead, so I can play the expansions as they were probably meant to play. I'm still a bit confused though -- what's the point of importing characters if they are too overpowered for the new games you'd import them into? Bleh.

I think the expansions are designed to be tougher and played with characters imported from the main campaigns fwiw.

I've been slacking on Disciples lately, I got Chessmaster 9000 on gog.com since I felt like playing a little bit the other day and it's actually really cool, it has a lot of tutorials. It also has a bunch of annotated games from Josh Waitzkin who I've never heard of cause I know nothing about chess, but they're like poker sweat videos and he talks about his strategy while replaying games he's played, even though I suck at chess he's a really good teacher and really interesting to listen to.

Kinda funny that I have like 5 360/PS3 games in my gaming queue and I'm spending most of my free time playing Chessmaster, Disciples, Heroes of Might and Magic, and prob Jagged Alliance 2 is up next.

Heh yeah I was seriously considering getting a PS3 or Xbox soon, but the fact is if I just played all the good PC games I already have, I probably wouldn't "need" another game for years.

Interesting that you figure expansions were meant to be played with imported characters. If that's the case, very cool. The one thing about Disciples 2 that I have a bit of a quibble with is that it's kind of like the opposite of an RPG in that in an RPG, as you level your character comes into its full powers, and you wind up with something really great that you can play for a long time. If you don't export your character in Disciples 2, though, you'll have built him up to his final awesomeness and then immediately stop playing him, which would be anti-climactic and feel like a bit of a gyp.

Jagged Alliance 2 is probably next on my list.

Unrelated to everything, Josh Waitzkin is the kid that Searching for Bobby Fischer (starring Joe Mantegna and Ben Kingsley) was about.

I am so pumped about the release of Grand Slam Tennis & motionplus. This is the sort of tennis game I've been waiting for since the Wii was released. Also Tiger Woods 10 will be great with motionplus.

I think I'm impressed.
Microsoft seems to be shipping my xbox back to me within the week. I.e. I brought it to ups on monday, it arrived on tuesday, they acknowledged it on wednesday, it was in the pipeline during a bank holiday on thursday and today the ups tracking site says "package data received", so it's scheduled for pick up. I hope they get it here till tomorrow and not monday.

wow. just great. my xbox is at the ups in my city now, but they don't deliver on saturdays unless you pay extra, what MS didn't, of course. Now I'll get it monday. But I'm at work on monday. So I'll probably get it SOMEDAY next week. I hate this.

At least I can do some of the work that I need to do and don't waste my time playing games...
