Mike Tyson's Punchout without Mike Tyson is just dumb and pointless.

Punch Out is a series and Tyson is only in one game. The Super Nintendo and Wii games are much better and don't have him in it.

The old arcade version of Punch Out is easily one of my top 10 all time faves (it also did not feature Mike)

I don't understand xbox game pass?

I mean - how are they making more money for these games with the monthly fee than by selling these games? I don't have an xbox so I can just play the 'anywhere'-games, but still theres a lot of high quality games that cost a small fortune there.

Just forza horizon 4 and sea of thieves by themselves basically pay for a years subscription. I don't get how this model makes sense from ms pov?

I assume they figure 1m subs is better than 250k people buying one or two games. I sub to Origin Access and but would buy 0 of the games by themselves.

I guess - I'm certainly saving a ton of money on services like Spotify and Netflix compared to buying/renting music/movies like I did before that was an option, but it's just strange to see that model for games.

I'm certainly not complaining though. Forza 4 is awesome and I'm playing it for the 1 dollar I got the first month for atm

I don't think it's directly profitable (yet, if ever).

They're made some outlandish claims though, like "releasing day and date actually increases sales!", but I don't believe that for a moment - and even if it did, it's unsustainable surely. If every game possible was free day 1 on gamepass, they would sell more $60 copies? lol no.

I used to get physically nervous playing that game. It was so mind-blowing at the time.

the vast majority of people were not going to have bought the games on it.

I got the $1 deal then had it for a few months to play sea of thieves and tried out a few other random things but cancelled a while ago

So you're telling me, with what I assume is no insider information, that a for profit business like Microsoft is just throwing money away with no clear way to recoup it... Interesting.

I'm going to bet they are making money off the service.

Selling more copies of games when they can be had at a better deal does seem unlikely however.

Anybody with experience selling old video games?

Parents dropped off some of my old GameBoy Games. Included in the collection is a still working Mega Man V, which is according to the internet worth around $100+

Easy way is find a few local mom and pop game stores and see what they will give you. Many will give you almost 2x store credit vs. cash. The tougher way is online, especially if you want/need to squeeze every dollar out of it.

I had a lot of like 100-120 Nintendo Power that I wanted to get rid of and one store wouldn't take them and the other offered me $100 in store credit or $40 cash, and I negotiated up to $40 cash plus Metroid Fusion GBA cartridge!

I've usually just done eBay or Amazon, but people here told me that's wrong.

I think if you have specifically valuable items then eBay/Craigslist is the way to go; if you’re just doing bulk then a local place is fine. I traded in my Sega Genesis and some other vintage games and got way more than I expected, which probably means I got ripped off pretty hard but honestly it was worth it for the amount of effort it required (showing up with a bag and walking out with cash).

I have multiple NES games that are worth >$100 (complete in box) and just never got around to selling.

The reason that is the case is because I was scared to ask my parents for an SNES, so we got all the late releases that end up becoming rare.

Microsoft ran an ebook store and just closed it recently, because it wasn't turning a profit. Because the books required online DRM to read, this also means any book you bought from them is now gone. They issued refunds for all those books. Just because a company is microsoft does not *necessarily* mean they already know something will turn a profit.

I love Kingdom Come Deliverance so much. Hardcore mode is right up my alley too. I've never played a game where getting lost in the woods and starving to death is a viable threat!

I know in general everyone here hates remakes, but I'm excited. I think this is a great game, but it's completely unplayable now because it's such a mess of polygons. I'd much rather replay 6 or Crono Trigger etc.
