I just finished Hollow Knight after beating Celeste. I need a filler game before Sekiro comes out. Is DMC5 good? I'm leaning toward that or RE2 for the Switch.

Loved hollow knight, played like 10 minutes of Celeste and was like "oh" and gave up, I'd assume the whole thing is the same as the first 10 right?

If you like challenging platforming games, give it a chance. I thought it was very fun and not easy at all.

I did look at that a while back and forgot about it...I'll decide tomorrow or later tonight between that, RE2, or DMC5...just need a filler for a couple of weeks and might be able to knock 2 of these out actually. I didn't do everything in Hollow Knight, but am very glad I played it and can bust it out later on to do a more thorough run. My run was only 54%.

I'm loving DMC5. If you were a fan of the earlier games then it's a must play. Really feels like it's evolved so much.

Fired up Skyrim for the first time in years. Holy **** that game has aged poorly. I think it might actually be garbage. I loved it 7 years ago, wtf?

I've still never actually played Skyrim. I have it on PC, but the mod scene intimidates me.

I tried 3 times to get into Skyrim and just couldn't. Dark Souls basically ruined the game for me, knowing what "Sword and Board" battles are capable of feeling like and Skyrim being so far from it.

I have about 150h of skyrim and never completed main quest (started a run a few months ago just to finally complete the main quest and got horribly sidetracked into crafting some armor and gathering ingots).
Absolutely love the game, I finished the dark brotherhood and thieves guild quest and really enjoyed them, got bored by the mage guild quest and didn't touch companion.
I would hate a dark soul combat style but if it's your thing I'm sure some mods can help that
you only need the unofficial patch and maybe the better UI, the game is fine as is.
I still plan to finish the main quest and then onto oblivion (which I didn't finish as well back in the day).

Skyrim was (and probably is, I haven't played it for so many years) an awesome game.

I'm not saying ya'll can't think it was/is bad. I'm just saying I won't listen to anyone who does when it comes to the subject of good games.

I would rank modded Skyrim VR as the #1 VR game available today (yeah Beat Saber, you're only top 5).

There are lots of modding guides available to hold your hand through the process. However, installing all the desired mods will take you a full evening or weekend.

I'm considering buying skyrim to play Enderal.

The elder scrolls games are quite interesting if you can stay engaged long enough to find a quest series you actually want to finish. Given the open world nature of the game, this might take a while depending on how you chose to start. There is a lot of baggage that is totally meaningless to the actual gameplay that the most hardcore fans seem to like for whatever reason. The inventory and level systems totally suck ass in my opinion, but the leveling system varies between bad and atrocious depending which version of the game one is playing. The endless cabinets of nearly useless junk items combined with the bag of holding style inventory system really make the game a drag. If someone is so OCD to spend all their time inventory managing to sell later, 75% of the game play is inventory management, which is probably the optimal strat if you don't care how much time you waste.

I already wrote about it in the Stream thread, but you should absolutely do that, Enderal is one of my favourite games of all time, and I hated Skyrim. The combat system is still garbage (it's a bit changed from the original game, but mostly the same), but the game is extremely plot-heavy, and it is fantastic.
