Not the multitudes of forgettable, copy/pasted maps and hackneyed open-world attempts. And it's not just the games themselves, these type of fad models are extremely susceptible to Early Access shenanigans. Where are the hundreds of now-abandoned open-world Early Access projects that everyone loved for two weeks and then promptly forgot about? These fads can be good for the gems they produce, but on the whole it can feel like a bland porridge. Considering I don't even like battle royale style gaming, I'm certainly entitled to gripe about the slough of similar, ****ty clones that are already in the works. You may be happy with the handful of good games it produces, but I don't think it's worth the garbage.
Also, Minecraft doesn't count.
I don't even know where to start on this...
Minecraft doesn't count as an open world game? And there are people who object to open world-games in general and as a principle?
I... srsly... what... I don't even... seriously... why?
Obviously there are terrible open world games - there are terrible any-possible-type-of-game games. What kind of a point even is this?
