Enhanced edition has quicksaves, quick loot, an improved UI, better AI, new content, loads of bug fixed, etc. But yes, there are a lot of flaws to BG1. The sequel remains a GOAT game.

maybe I should stop being stubborn and stop hunting for original BG2 and give enhanced edition a shot...

Twilight Struggle just released on steam. Second highest rated board game on BoardGameGeek (it really is one hell of a game if played live), but I don't know how good the virtual version is. I'm reading it's well made but the AI is clunky.

I only completed BG1 once. I've been through BG2 4-5 times with a guide so that I made sure that I did every quest that was open to my character. I got it during the school holidays which lead to me putting in 18 hour shifts for the first week or so. Most fun I've ever had with a game.

Quick iOS game plug (I am not involved with the game in any way but have been following the development closely because I really love it): if you like Threes and/or games like Puzzle Craft, check out Stencilsmith, which I've been hooked on since picking it up on release. Right now it's on sale for 99 cents though the price is going up soon when the developer introduces iPad compatibility.

Got the JRPG Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky after hearing about it from this forum and subsequently reading all the great reviews. Was enjoying it until I just ran into a jarring, ugly moment of homophobia expressed by main characters. I had quite liked them up until this point but this was really off-putting and it's surprising reviews didn't mention it. Hopefully there are no more occurrences like that.

Loving slither.io on iPhone. Like multiplayer snake where only other people kill you, with speed boosts

Great game when you're feeling mentally drained. Just watch huge snakes try to trap you only to die before they kill you.

MS announced they've stopped production of the 360. What an amazing console it was. Changed gaming in a lot of positive(and some negative) ways.

Oh, you can play in the browser on slither.io I found out last night... Into this morning.

For two glorious amounts of time I was in first out of 3-400 others.

Game had some lag issues that killed me, and collision detection doesn't make sense some times (I've lost 100% of my head on collisions), but it's still an addictive blast.

I can't believe they were still making 360s. Pound for pound I think the PS2 was the better console but they are probably 1 & 2 all time (recency bias?).

I dunno, I'm on gigabit fiber and I still get plenty of occasions where I cut someone off to kill them, then watch helplessly as my snake stutters backwards a few pixels, then I die.

Also have no clue how head on collisions work. I've died from every single head on except one. No clue what I did differently.

If it ever gets hit boxes a bit more exact and the lag figured out, would be a much better experience. Still really addictive though. Tiny length 20 snake taking out the board leader is an amazing feeling.

The weird thing is that I didn't have any lag when I first played, but maybe the increase in players has been the main issue I guess. But yeah, something about the mechanics and the faster speed make it much more addictive than agar.io

Big recency bias and Microsoft bias. Granted I never owned a 360, but objectively it's a lot worse even than PS3 in terms of number of exclusives and the quality of them. NES is also arguably in there. 360 is definitely behind even N64 and PSX, and it might be behind Genesis.

(What happened to the people here who used to claim N64 was GOAT btw?)
