In case there's any doubt that Comcast is the worst company ever, I just watched an ad for XFINITY INTERWEBZ featuring these toolboxes with a booth in a mall asking people to play Trials Fusion on Xbox One and being like "isn't this so smooth? there's no buffering! the wi-fi is so fast!"

Do not be fooled by what looks like multiplayer on the TV. It's local only.

I might suggest Banished. Community sim, runs in real time. Fairly challenging.

I think its from a typical thing where people apply the past to the present and expect similar results... but the world is changing.

I agree that their franchises are insanely strong. If they had just focused on those franchises,... like, eg. a Pokemon MMO, they could be really successful no problem.

As stupid as I personally think pokemon is, I don't want to think about the number of hours that would be invested in that game by the collective masses.

schus post is pretty dumb. Nothing wrong with Nintendo wanting to launch in one of the fastest growing regions for video games and emulating a model that made Activision over a billion dollars in under 3 years. The China console won't be anything special, it will probably be similar to the iQue but with Wii games or something. They'd be stupid to release a disc based system in China anyway. The skylanders thing is going to be money. They make a **** load on Mario merchandise already.

If you're mad about the lack of software then I'm right there with you. A lot of it has to do with how Nintendo basically runs EAD from inside a bubble. The Wii U has some great games but Nintendo has done nothing but play it safe. Just look at the first party titles and there is one original game, Wonderful 101, and it sold like crap. NSMB U feels like NSMB Wii HD. Pikmin 3 is just more Pikmin. WW HD speaks for itself. DKCTF feels like DKCR 1.5 and SM3DW feels like SM3DL 1.5. They are all great games and really fun but none of them made me feel like I was playing something new. Everyone knew all those games were going to be good because they pretty much knew exactly what to expect. I also played all of those games with the Pro Controller because none of them really did anything great with the gamepad. Every other exclusive is average, a HD remake or a mini game compilation. There's nothing original or even a game that can represent the system. There's no Galaxy, Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, OOT etc equivalent. There's nothing that Nintendo can really promote has a hallmark of the system. Even with MK8 and how good it looks, it's still just more Mario Kart.

Nintendo should give their franchise out to third parties more. It's worked for them in the past. Sega with F Zero, Capcom with Zelda, Next Level with Punch Out and Luigis Mansion, Namco with Mario Kart and SSB and Retro with Metroid and DKC. If Nintendo don't have the manpower then why not throw some franchises at someone like Wayforward to remake some 2D games. I'd probably pay full price for a Super Metroid HD. Give Wave Race to Vector Unit or Mario RPG to Obsidian. They have so many recognizable franchises that I just don't understand why they don't work with 3rd parties more. Give Zelda to From Software. They already have experience with the formula in 3D Dot Game Heroes and Dark Souls is the GOAT action RPG. Imagine a Zelda game that was challenging and didn't hold your hand the whole time.

Kabong I agree with you tho. The sentiment of my post is that Nintendo had the ability and the branding to do so, so well, but their decision making and marketing is often wack. And yes it is selfish because i want their stuff to succeed and be popular. They certainly have underachieved.

Didn't people learn with GW2 not to call something the next WoW? It's going to be a long time before we see another MMO gross over $10 billion.

The next WoW will be blizzard's next MMO.

From streams/reviews: it looks like a really cool MMO. I want to play it, but I don't think I have enough time to justify the subscription fee.

It will seem to cater to every type of playstyle with its setup. PVP/explorers/traders/crafters/dungeon crawlers etc

Can't think of what EAD stands for, so I just read it as 'eat a dick'
