Also, my point that Minecraft doesn't count is because it's almost ten years old and is a standout landmark in gaming. No one hates Minecraft.

Moreover, I was just saying that I don't like the battle royale thing and now it will be everywhere (with more ****ty games than not).

That sounds like a good thing for you, tbh. Now instead of wonder if some ****ty new piece of **** is any good, you can hear "like pubg, but..." and instantly be turned off, no more wasting your time wondering if you'll enjoy it!

PU is kind of wrong about IP and it’s pretty surprising someone in his position would say that.

If he wants to stop China from copying his stuff then every industry ever wishes him good luck.

I think he's mostly worried about EA / Acti / Ubi / T2. His poorly performing bad looking game stands no chance when one or more of those enters the fray.

Still, ridiculous for a person who only got where he is by shamelessly ripping off others ideas to now claim nobody else should be allowed to do so.

Well that's where I think he's being ridiculous as well. He says he wants the genre to grow but he also wants protection from "copy cats". If he wants to start owning mechanics or rules then that's a dangerous mindset and one that would have kept himself out of games if it were already in place. How does he think that's going to work anyway?

To be honest I don't know much about him or PUBG but he seems like he has his head in the clouds with a lot of the quotes I'm reading. With that said I still think it's cool someone can go from making mods to creative director on a major project.

I really didn't like it for the first 10 hours because the combat has such a learning curve and isn't very much fun. EuroJank isn't my thing. But damn i'm loving the awesome to explore world with cool stuff that doesn't hold your hand.

I decided I needed to get a sports car simulator so I bought final fantasy 15

i will listen to that sometime. To say that game made me feel nostalgic is an understatement. I dropped out of college in 2005 and came back home when i was 20 to find things different and the whole game feels very early 2000-ish to me. I havent played a game that reminds me of my late teens very early 20's ever, I have a deep feeling of nostalgia to go back to 2004-2006 now.

everything about the story hits very close to home for me.

watched a brief semi-documentary on the speedrunning community's trials and travails wrt SMB level 4-2. Learned all about how the game only lets you finish a level every 1/3rd of a second or so, also how the warp pipes and wrong warps work. Very interesting stuff to video game nerds

Finally got an SNES Classic today. Before I went to bet, saw a Facebook post from ThinkGeek saying they got them in stock. I had a reason to be out and about this morning, so I stopped in and there we go.

Pretty cool! Had fun playing with my 9-year old. And I never had an SNES and maybe played it once in my life. I went from the Atari consoles/Apple II to NES to PC to PS1, skipping SNES.

I bought a package with wireless controllers, though those are coming in the mail. Don't know if I'll keep them or not. The cords on the wired controllers seem ok, but I guess if anyone wants to sit on the couch and play, wireless will be necessary. $15 each, so I guess it's not breaking the bank.

Oh wow I didn't know they had wireless controllers. I sort of stopped playing my SNESC - partially because it was annoying to have to pull it out and set it up every time.

I guess they do - I have no idea if they are any good, but I suppose I'll find out when they arrive.

The SNES Classic wireless controllers arrived today. These are what was sent:

Haven't tried them yet. Feel lower quality than the regular controllers, though once I add two AAA batteries, the weight will probably feel better. They also have switches to turn the buttons into turbo versions, which I guess is cool.
