Does not compute for me. Thought it was standard to not have 100% of everyone's chat placed in the chat screen?


Although I have no idea how is this controversial at all unless twitch is letting it go for seemingly no reason and over throttling others chat? Even then it's completely obvious why the pkmn chat should not be throttled at all.

The team is basically comprised of a bunch of scrubs then a rattata that has dig, Digrat. And then obv Bird Jesus.

I'm not talking about Twitch in particular, just the guy running the channel. Earlier he had slow mode on in chat with it being a mandatory 6 minutes between you being able to give a command, which is super lame. It's down to 1 minute now, which is less lame but still lame.

How can you tell the time? Or I guess one has to post and the chat auto tells you? Obv I have not commented in that stream.

this anarchy/democracy thing is totally lame

and the slow mode - don't find it to be some sort of outrage at all, probably has to be that slow to accommodate the huge volume of commands streaming in, both for the game input and for the chat server

yeah you post and then try to post again immediately after and twitch is like "can't send your message cuz we're on slow mode dawg and you can send a message after XXXX seconds"

I watched this for ten minutes and they were just walking back and forth north of cerulean city while occassionally hitting the start menu. Are there deader times at night to make progress just with fewer people playing? how will they ever beat the elite four

ok this battle is incredible. gonna be stuck for a while since you cant beat ghosts with a pidgey using normal attacks lol. and the SS anne ticket doesnt help.

They make progress either when the hive mind manages to coordinate in the short term, when the stars align and they do the right thing by accident, or when democracy holds long enough to accomplish something.

In Pokemon "dying" just sends you back to a Pokemon center with half your money, so as long as they're playing the game at all they can gain XP. They may end up just brute forcing the whole thing.

"Democracy mode" means that instead of accepting all input, it tallies all input within a time delta and then chooses the most popular option. It only tends to get popular when Red has to navigate with any kind of precision, e.g. the maze in Rocket HQ. In general people think it's too easy and keep it on anarchy mode if it has any chance of progressing. While I'm at it, "start9" refers to people who vote to press start 9 times to sabotage democracy.

right now they are just stuck in the tower in lavender town. lold when someone changed the options to slow text. the stream is like 30 seconds behind the text so there cant be much coordination, has to be luck to navigate

I think that was one of the designs that was sold when Twitch opened a store for a few weeks back in November or December. But it's Day9, so he probably got them all for free anyway lol.

Aside from democracy, people have figured out other tricks like spamming start during tricky bits to slow the game down so input lag matters less. This is how they got past the infamous ledge before democracy mode was a thing.
