Another speculation is that its about him promoting a controversial author and book at the end of his stream.

The whole "OMG it's super serious but I can't say what it is!" coming from multiple people makes me think it's not that serious, at least not that serious if you aren't part of the twitch bubble. Reminds me of Bill Perkins' "scandal bigger than Mike Postle!" and it was a high stakes pro ghosting someone in his online home game.

If it really was serious, they would come out with it already. Instead it's just fodder for gossip and drama. The fact that Twitch refunded subscriptions means that something did happen but he probably violated their TOS in some way or maybe there is a video of him screaming the N word.

When Mixer announces they were done, I joked with a couple of friends that Shroud and Ninja will start up their own streaming service and one said Doc should join. Apparently Spotify is getting on the streaming train so a breach of contract could also be on the table for why he got perma-banned

Twitch permabanning one of the biggest streamers in the world months after signing a multi-million deal for several years with him is pretty much already "that serious".

What part of their TOS could he have violated that would both warrant a permaban and at the same time leave everyone clueless about what he did?

If it was something he did on stream/twitch, then it'd already be out. It's not like the top streamers can do questionable stuff (or anything at all) while streaming without anyone noticing.

And surely a breach of the TOS, or even a video of screaming the N word or other verbal stuff would have already been addressed with some apology and attempt of damage control?

The permaban, total silence from DrD and other factors here makes it seem pretty serious. I don't really see any non-serious causes that would explain the combination of factors here.

Doc says on twitter he has no idea why he was banned and that twitch has not given him a specific reason.

Which sounds strange, especially considering he has/had a multi million deal with them.

Most of the reasonable possibilities have been listed here:
- Some sort of competitive streaming site to Twitch with shroud/Ninja rumoured
- Sexual harassment / incident
- I heard something about this bathroom streaming incident at TwitchCon or something?

Agree that if it was something on stream he did, we'd 100% already know. It must be something worse. My immediate thoughts were some sort of sexual incident, especially given the state of the industry on that topic right now -- maybe it was bad enough that Twitch just had to make themselves completely distant from him if it was true.

Connection to new streaming site theory has some interresting evidence.

Sponsors have reinstated their ad campaigns with him so sounds unlikely that its related to something like that imo.

People in general are just ****ed up and have always been ****ed up, the internet has just made it easier to exploit people as well as expose it.

We had a streamer who has a global emote do community management for us for about 3 months early last year before leaving to join some streamer company. I always had a bad vibe about him and would constantly point out suspect **** he said to the point where others took notice. Anyway a bunch of real ****ed up stories came out about him recently and the incidents were before and after he worked with us and it's just a really uneasy feeling. I mean it's easy to call someone creepy and have a bad vibe about someone but to find out that you were right and actually read specifics and messages they wrote is disgusting. He admitted it but we cut ties anyway and took his name off the credits of the game. I don't want to say his name but **** that guy.

Just curious what reason you'd have to protect a predator in this regard? Obviously it sounds like you're allowed to say his name rather and not obligated not to.

I’m not protecting him and it’s a bit bizarre you would say that. I would have preferred not say his name because I don’t want him getting any traffic or exposure but it was blessrng.

Sorry I shouldn't have worded it like that. I just wasn't sure the reason but that makes sense.

I saw a stream of some Harvard psychologist on twitch with Alinity a couple days ago, literally going through a therapy session while she seems to be bawling and having a mental breakdown. There is something very ironic about that, it just being right there in the open with 40k viewers. It's like these streamers don't know how to have any privateness to their life.

If you all have nothing better to do tomorrow, go look up Tetris and watch the UK championship. I'm playing at around half four our time so morning in America, I'll get pwned by a second round opponent in all likelihood but I could win round one
