The game will be amazing!

And...Cd Projekt Red- being awesome- will release
16 (!) FREE dlc packs for the game.

Just exited about the game is all.

Has anyone read the books?
They're not all translated yet, but was wondering how they were and the lore apect... I know it separates and Ciri (cirilla) becomes the main character in the latter half of the novels.she is also a playable character in this game.so I'm wondering if CD Projekt Red will later do a game or series with her as the main playable character/protagonist.That would be dope.

I guess I'm talking to myself in this thread?
that's cool.
I for one am happy they delayed the release of the game.
I can't stand rushed games put out just to meet a certain stated date.
Ugh! Filled with bugs and needing patches out the wazoo.

Hell- I used to just wait until they released the special whatever versions.
I'd rather play a fine tuned polished game than some rushed buggy turd ball.

Anyway.I do admit getting the very first witcher first version though.and there was that bug where he does the learning skills thing at the fire and you could just do whatever it was and sit back down again an hear that brring sound and endlessly add talents or whatever. I liked that.
That's the only "cheat" I did...god I can't stand modded games...
Like ok- so what's the point of even playing then?
god mode or something/no damage...um...defeats the whole damn purpose.
meh.

Never played a Witcher game, but the trailers look dope. I'll probably be buying day one.

First two witcher games are well worth playing and go on deep sales a lot.

Just to get a grasp of the massive size of this game...
Just 2 parts of the map= 52 square miles, whereas in contrast the whole game of skyrim is only 16 square miles total.
Wowzers!

The books are great - I read all that were available in English after having played the first two games. Any fan of the games should def pick those up.

I just listened to the Blood of Elves and was surprised by how good it was. I'll definitely finish the main novels and probably all the short stories.

This only matters if there's interesting stuff to do in all that space.

Skyrim was the same boring monotonous view over and over again.
no new areas- just- ugh.boring.this open world game will be completely different in every nook and cranny.

From a feb 2015 article by phil iwaniuk

" As art producer Michal Stec tells us, there’s a marked difference in how the studio’s populating its open-world with content. Skyrim was built using a ‘modular’ toolset, so the dungeons you explored were actually combinations of dungeon parts that could be slotted together in different ways; game designer’s Lego. In The Witcher 3, the philosophy is much more bespoke. “Our artists are really quality oriented,” says Stec, “and they hate copy/paste approaches, which is good. We have a base set of buildings, and we use attachments to those buildings and apply different variations or texture sets to them. We don’t have total parts of caves, but walls and ceilings and floors to create all those caves, so we are free to make big chambers and small chambers.”

The team’s proud of this enormous environment, and they want you to savour it. Their worry, you’d suppose, is that since they’re setting you free in it to explore as you see fit, you’ll miss at least some of the good stuff. How do the level designers guide our eyes to the bits we should be looking at, we ask? “It’s a story-driven RPG, so first we write the script and design the quests, and then basically we create the world. Then we design the locations that are necessary for quests and lay them on the map. This gives us the ‘skeleton’. After that, we unleash level designers and tell them: ‘Guys, these are the levels we need to fill with cool stuff.’”

On every horizon, Stec explains, the level designers place a point of interest. A landmark. The idea is that you never find yourself in characterless space. Instead you’re seeing constant reinforcement of plot points and wider Witcher lore, or simply an area that looks like it might be worth exploring."

Witcher 3 is well worth getting excited over.

The main issue here isn't warmshowers enthusiastic posting but the lack of the same from the rest of us imo.

My excuse is that I'm trying to stay as unspoiled as possible.

Wow dude.
Maybe it's more like I'm new here and never started a thread before and felt obligated to fill it with information since there's nothing in here and no one else posting anything.

Definitely surprised there's not more hype for this. I haven't played the first two but just from seeing gameplay footage I'm pretty confident that this will be GOTY material, and I'm a pretty hardcore skeptic of big budget AAA titles with the crap we've seen churned out over the last few years.

Feels like a day one purchase but waiting is probably smarter just to be sure since there's no pre-order dependant game content or anything. Actually, that's probably a good reason to pre-order, so I think I'll go ahead and do that.
