Apparently he's been a pro since at least 2014, playing for Prime and then SKT1, but never qualified for GSL until this year; last season was his first, and he lost in the first round 1-2 to Zest and 0-2 to Soo. He got his revenge this time!

I'm just so happy to finally see a Protoss player innovating in the matchups. It feels like forever ago when Zest basically invented the DT into Archon harass vs Zerg, and it took a while for glaive adept all ins really got figured out.

I hope this Void Ray or disruptor play becomes the new meta, Zoun is really setting the new trend and I cant wait to see how far he takes it.

...in before Armani and Zoun get picked for Group A and get stomped

Okay some of these Ro16 groups are insane:

C: Stats, Byun, Parting, Maru
D: Rogue, Innovation, Dark, Trap

Each of those has 3 GSL champions and a player who could have been

I was surprised to see that Trap had never won one, I assumed he was one of the many Protosses that beat Soo in a final to get one but I guess that was just Zest/Classic/Dear/Stats

If you don't follow Starcraft and aren't familiar with two of the most famous SC2 and BW players of all time, why are you both posting in this thread and commenting on tournament results with regard to current player strength levels? Especially since apparently five digit prize pools are too small for your taste.

I just bumped in to this topic out of curiosity (like to check on where is the best RTS that seen many better days is now) and made a smirky but rather true remark. I wasn't expecting to offend anyone or trigger this kind of response. I have also offered you some of my experience and knowledge of high level competitive video games as extensive as 20+ years, I apologize that it was futile.

i still cant take the crown out of korea til they become gsl regs or at least try it. lots of results including vs the top koreans, but i still think the gsl would be tougher than one off tournaments and more brackets

I saw this vod linked from one of the main ESL matches and it wound up being really good, from the perspective of, I love watching pro matches that look like they contain gold league strats, and these guys (Stephano still plays SC2???) delivered:
