I don't think that matters - two Terrans in that part of the bracket increases the chance that a Terran emerges from those 4 players. It works out the same (50% Terran advancing from their sub-bracket, times 25% chance their sub-bracket produces the champion).

but based on that math, the ability to have 2 in ro4 would be double. having 2 terrans not mirror is the same 50%, but having 2 chances is more than 25

Say that Maru and Gumiho were on complete opposite ends of the bracket.

Chances Maru is in finals: 1/8
Chances Gumiho is in finals: 1/8

Chance Maru AND Gumiho make finals (100% Terran victory): 1/8 * 1/8 = 1/64
Chance neither Maru nor Gumiho make finals (0% Terran victory): 7/8 * 7/8 = 49/64
Chance that exactly one of Maru/Gumiho make finals (50% Terran victory): 1 - the other two possibilities above = 14/64

So, 1/64 + (0.5 * 14/64) = 8/64 = 1/8.

No matter where you put them in the bracket, the math is always going to even out that way.

Okay, let's say their path might put them in the same semifinal instead of the same final.

Maru makes that semifinal: 1/4
Gumiho makes that semifinal: 1/4

They both do (100% Terran advance to finals): 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/16
Neither do (0%): 3/4 * 3/4 = 9/16
Exactly one does (50% Terran advance): 6/16

Chance a Terran advances from that semifinal: 1/16 + (0.5 * 6/16) = 4/16 = 1/4
Chance a Terran wins the tournament: 0.5 * 1/4 = 1/8 (same as other bracket setups)

i thought maru was eliminated by stats already

TJ, did we ever end up actually having more than 2 people in that pool?

also
Spoiler:
congrats to classic, he actually didn't play his dumb cheesy style he usually does and provided some incredible games

side point: do we have another forum to migrate to like politics?

GSL groups are out

group A looks good for maru and inno.
Armani who?
Group E is no joke and group G looks like the most chaotic possible.

super tournament was really good:
Spoiler:
classic is beasting recently but coolest games were parting games.
Agree commentary was top tier.

Can Maru win 5 GSL in a row?

Sorry, just now finally finished watching all the Super Tournament games.

Nobody else joined the bracket pool, so we weren't booked. However, just for fun, I decided to score my bracket and your bracket to show how much fun it COULD have been, with Fibonacci scoring:

Super Tournament spoilers below:

Spoiler:
My Bracket:

Ro8:

Maru
Dark
Rogue
Parting
sOs
Dear
Patience
soO

Ro4:

Dark
Rogue
sOs

Finalists:

Champion:

sOs

bsball's bracket:

Stats
Dark
Rogue
Ragnarok
sOs

Patience

Stats
Rogue

Rogue

Rogue

6 points

LOL, we both went 3/8 in the first round... that's not good

Y'all should have entered, look at all the dead money from weak brackets!!!

Finals spoiler:

Spoiler:
Game 1, Classic gets behind from a 9-probe kill widowmine drop, and then goes on to win a dynamic late game with about eleventy BILLION killer storms.

But I was even more impressed with game 3, Classic snipes Gumiho's natural early, so Gumiho says fk it I'm 1-basing into a 1-1-1, try to hold it, and Classic had the most epic hold EVAR at his natural!

The long-term politics regs started another forum to stay a community in the face of the owners of this site's fascism.

It can be found here.

I agree that Group H is the toughest.

Really pulling for Scarlett to do some big things!

Group A starting things off in an entertaining way.

Spoiler:
Armani a bit of a punching bag but Patience's PvT looked incredible and Innovation's play in g3 of the final match was amazing. The push utilising the Liberators was so good.
