These foreigner events are always so terribly run - there's 8 groups running all at the same time? And one Twitch channel (in English anyway), which is not showing the only games worth watching, aka Has games? Sorry, I'm out.

In this event's "open brackets are hilarious" news:
- NoRegret is eliminated in the first group stage (they didn't even start broadcasting until the third stage) in a group with Time (Chinese T who at least is pro and won it) and two guys who don't even have Liquipedia entries
- Snute and Bly are both eliminated in the second group stage, against Reynor and Harstem, which makes me wonder how these groups are drawn when another group had "Shadown", "Semper", "Rhizer", and "Disk" (you've maybe heard of one of those)
- TLO eliminated in group stage 2 at the hands of some French Zerg named Denver

I guess this tournament has a lot of WCS implications for Blizzcon, actually. TL has a guide. On that front...
- Neeb and Showtime were looking good coming in and are still alive
- Has and Heromarine were looking almost as good and are still alive
- Nerchio was in 6th but went out in round 3 and could get passed
- Elazer was barely hanging on in 8th and is still alive

Below the cutoff line and looking to win a Blizzcon spot:
- Snute died in round 2, RIP
- Mana died in round 3, RIP
- True, uThermal, Lambo, Kelazhur, Scarlett are down the list but still alive

Anyone can qualify by winning this tournament, and a lot of other players who have picked up points here and there this year can qualify by reaching the finals, but that's about it for those not on this list.

i get its a blizzard event and not a gsl, but doesnt it seem kind of silly to let "wcs circuit" get MORE players into finals than gsl gets? so gtd half foreigners again; at least gsl vs the world acknowledges they are letting others have a chance, not forcing it.

i could see one entry for each winner but points entries should be across all regions. or would be fun to have seeded players auto qualify, top 8 both sides in points play a 16p tourney for the next 8 spots with losers bracket. i guess its not feasible to do that on lan, and not really fair online, but idk. seems skewed to give RoW gtd half the spots when they clearly arent the 8 best players there.
