Yep. I feel bad for Reynor, he had to deal with such TRASH. 2rax is some trash race ****, never puts the Terran behind, then trash Protoss bull**** like adepts (herp derp just suicide as many as possible, killed 10 workers, do I win now?) and immortals (herp derp just crank out 15 of them and I can never die as long as I have 2 archons to prevent muta attacks).
It's nice to see Neeb advance to the Ro8. He's had a lot of success in foreigner segregated tournaments and is really a tremendous talent. I was a little worried for him when he got EZ'd by Maru like that, but losing to the current best player in the game is never something to be too upset about. Maru getting out of this (relatively speaking) pretty easy group was not a surprise.
What he did to Light in game 5 was absolutely unreal. Trapped him with a decoy 3rd base where he never sent any unit to defend and then busted his natural with a **** ton of lings lurkers mutas.
My mind is blown by Dark's approach to this game in general, but particularly the engagement at his 5th after his ling runbys devastated Gumiho's workers - I was like, okay, cool, you wrecked his economy, but now you have lings and banes and hydras against SO MANY TANKS and SO MANY THORS, with like 2 vipers, and it felt like a "cool story bro with your harass but now I'm just going to kill you" kind of moment.
The patience Dark displayed to spread his units so far and so deep across like 3 screens, and keep them all back to avoid sending 20 hydras to die to tank fire, until he had JUST enough to clear Gumiho's army, with the exact 2 blinding clouds he needed, was absolutely incredible.
Dark vs Gumiho 1 was one of the most bizarre series I've ever seen. Overall, I honestly thought Dark was trolling to get 2nd so he could face Neeb rather than Maru.
But Rogue is playing Neeb, so Dark would have wanted 1st.
That reminds me, the group nomination recap was HILARIOUS. Dark had a plan for how he wanted his group to go and it did not pan out, at all. I love the balls on Rogue, like "yeah let's make this a group of death, I take Innovation, and gg guys I just advanced in 1st".
Yeah, IDK why I thought 2nd place would play Neeb. It still felt like Dark was playing a little too experimental than you would expect for GSL Ro16, but maybe he always does that. I haven't followed the scene close enough recently to know.
I mean, I won multiple matches at MLG back in like 2012 as a diamond Zerg in SC2. I'm sure even BW has baddies in the first few rounds of a qualifier. And this is former GSL player and Blizzcon champion Artosis we're talking about here.
Sea/Horang2/Jaedong/Killer
Shuttle/ErOs_ByuL/Shine/Where (I don't think this is the same Byul that was zerg, this guy seems to be a complete newbie Terran)
Mind/Sacsri/Best/Movie
Effort/Action/Mong/Stork
Last/Calm/Soulkey/Rush
Sharp/yerim2/Guemchi/Light (yerim2 - pretty unknown Zerg, went to school in the US around the time the original TSL's were on)
probably gonna rewatch since i was pretty distracted live, but probably one of the better/fun to watch groups in a while. glad ty got out first, another round of pvt is never a fun prospect
