btw, WCS Austin is this weekend if you like watching people who are good at Starcraft* with an asterisk for not being Korean. Today they played from 80 down to 16 and it was a mess due to having only 2-3 streams while tons of groups played simultaneously plus a nice power/internet outage that delayed **** for awhile, but the Ro16 starts tomorrow (with wayyyyy too many mirror matchups) and players still alive include:

Serral
True (wait, he's Korean...)
Scarlett/Nerchio (playing each other)
Neeb
Stephano/Snute (also playing each other)
Elazer/TLO (TOO MANY ZVZS)

at least 3 of the worst zergs in history can be out first, at least they cashed in when it was broken

as an aside, i wonder what jonnyrecco is doing at the moment

Extremely careful, relying on superior game sense and mechanics. He’d be the guy that would go robo first, make three observers, and still have enough to hold off aggressive pushes and win from there

I missed most of Austin today, but looking at the results of the six series so far it doesn't seem like anything exciting happened

I usually play pretty passive ZvP and tech up, but after getting my 2nd game in a row against the same Protoss tonight and seeing his style (stargate into templar), I decided to switch it up and try something I see pros do a lot: make a swell of lings and send it to their third. It turns out that's not a bad idea, killed it and most of his army at the time (was small, a couple sentries + chargelots + stalkers - I think this is probably a leak that a lot of Protoss players have in the midgame if they aren't going for an all-in), put me absurdly ahead and made the rest of the game easy.

Thinking about popping back into this. Been watching a ton.

Debating on staying with protoss or moving to Terran.

I haven't played in years, so I'm sure either will be fine to jump back into.

Was never super good, but i did reach plat playing fewer than 5-6 ladder games a week.

Rogue v Maru series from last night is A+++, it's a shame that's the ro8 and not the finals

yeah it was, too bad some green guy will probably end up winning. i think maru showed more "respect" being vs teammate; practice partners aside, im sure he allins 1/5 vs your avg

2. Fantasy is returning to SC2! YESSSSSSS never forget the GOAT bo3 series (g1, g2, g3 yes I tracked those down individually because it was that good)

I think it is just that Rogue has been crushing the proxy rax strat in practice too often so Maru decided his other builds were higher percentage plays.

MOO PROLEAGUE is delivering but its hard to keep up with. its like 4 hours every 2 days.

I played this guy today who I remembered in a he-definitely-talked-****-when-I-beat-him kind of way, but I couldn't remember the occasion like what build he did or whatever. He was random and I scouted T, and he opened with a weird double factory opening or something that went into a bio-mech mixture and wound up being typical bio-tank - I went roach-hydra-viper and cleaned up his army pretty easily in every fight. He types "****ing cheater" and leaves.

...aaaaaaaand that's when I remember him - he was Protoss and I drone scouted a totally empty main and my overlord found where he was building his three proxy gates. I canceled my expansion and built a ton of spines and he accused me of maphacking repeatedly before angrily leaving. LOL
