They might do. If they turn English casts into hand holding casts then I guess I'll just return to the Korean commentary where we still knew what was happening through, you know, watching the game rather than watching the stats.

Also 12 unit selection was a design decision and removing it would make the game imbalanced, zerg would never lose a game (lol at the concept of having as many mutas as you want stacked, or mass cracklings in one control group)

They can't change pathing because balance depends on units being ******ed. They'd have to change everything.

English casts are already hand-holding casts lol. Or at least Tastosis casts are.

To clarify, I believe the original BW will be free starting this week (IOW, not just a preview week). The remastered is later this year and supposedly will be 100% compatible with the original BW.

SC2 community update with thoughts on future balance patch. It mentions a few other things (raven, PvP, and the stale adept-filled metagame of PvZ) but let's focus on this:

This is so stupid. If Terrans are doing well with bio and Blizzard wants them to use mech more, and does this not by making any aspect of bio worse but by buffing mech until it's on par or better than bio, then Terran gets even stronger.

Furthermore, the reason people don't use thors is because liberators are already absurdly ****ing good anti-air with their splash damage; you want to give Terran a unit that's even better in that respect??

I assume they will do the same thing they are doing for BW for WC3 next year or something. They have a whole team dedicated now.

I'm kinda surprised by how small of a difference the baneling health upgrade made in ZvT. I expected it would break the ling/bane/muta vs bio matchup but it feels almost exactly the same as before.

I need to get better at split defense and multi-faceted engagements.

The number of games I lose because there are 16 marines in my main and my third, usually wedged in somewhere impossible to engage effectively, while my main army is elsewhere is WAY too high.

In the open field, I often fail at properly surrounding the enemy force, or I'll have a clump of banes killed by a Widow Mine. My micro is lacking. But that's why I'm a 4k scrub.

If your building placement is what allows that, then fix your building placement. Be generous with static D (1-2 spores and 1-2 spines per base) if drops are too hard to handle; at our level (I'm 4250 apparently) the extra security + stopping future drone losses is worth the up front cost. Nobody I play against is ever good enough to do more than 2 drops at once (and if they do, they're spending ALL their attention on those two drops and their macro is probably suffering at home), so I can usually get away with 1a-ing my army to defend one and using queens (focus down medivacs)/mutas to defend the other or at least hold it off enough until my army can get over after dealing with the other drop. Obviously, a critical part of making that work is having extra queens (I make two creep queens in addition to 1 per hatch, usually a macro hatch with an extra queen in the main) and seeing drops coming before they're in my base (OL spread/holding watchtowers).

On maps where there are two different options for taking a third (Cactus Valley/Newkirk as examples), prefer the one that doesn't allow Terran to elevator directly between third and main.

Other than that, I'm not particularly great at splits/surrounds/whatever but my opponents aren't either. My go-to move that I've probably posted before against people that use mines is to quickly drag-select a group of like 8 lings/4 banes and try to move command them into their army (dragging mine shots with them hopefully) with the lings and/or make them run back/trigger more mine shots with the banes. You'll never take a devastating mine hit to like 15 banelings that way and once you trigger mine shots, players at our level will usually just die to 1a-ing your army into them.

Dunno if this helps with micro but specifically, I'll have lings and banes on separate control groups (1 and `), and an attack will usually be like
1 - move command behind their army
` - move command behind their army
wait for lings (which are faster obv) to start surrounding their army a little as they're likely retreating
1 - a-click behind their army to get them to start attacking, then basically forget about them
switch to ` group (banes)
spam r-click into their juicy army clump (never a-move, then your banes will never get wasted on tanks or marauders or whatever)
if they start splitting marines, then move banes into an area between all their units and then a-move them (if you did this right, banes on one edge of the clump should be closer to different units than banes on the other edge, and they'll naturally kinda spread out towards all marines)

If you have mutas too, start off a-moving them and then as Terran starts retreating shift-click your muta group onto all their tanks (if they have any) and then medivacs

it makes sense to me that it wouldn't make much difference

increased health of suicide units has no effect on what they do when they successfully suicide

the difference between getting there or not has more to do with whether they are being shot at or the marines are shooting at something else and you would need a ****load of extra hp to make a difference when they're getting shot at on the way in

Mine usually goes like this:

Get way ahead on economy, trade badly in the early/midgame but still manage to contain enemy on 2 or 3 bases until they run out of money, build 150 banelings and go win.

That's awesome! According to the qualifier page, Scarlett beat the artist formerly known as Liquid Hero 2-1, lost 2-1 to Trap, then beat Cloudy 2-0 (a Chinese Protoss who 2-0ed Hero in the losers bracket). Maybe her ZvP is looking good these days?

Major lost 2-0 to Gumiho but then beat JYP 2-0 and Hurricane 2-1.

I kinda enjoy looking through qualifier brackets to see who's still around. From GSL, notably:
- Genius lost 2-0 to some Chinese Protoss named Rushcrazy to get insta-eliminated (most 1st round matchups were byes, but if you didn't get a bye and you lost, you're out)
- Choya took a game off Zest but lost to him and then got 2-0ed by Losira
- Swedish Zerg SortOf lost 2-1 to the good Hero, beat Ragnarok 2-0, but lost to Bunny in the qualifying match
- Alicia is apparently still around, lost 2-0 to Maru and 2-1 to former Axiom teammate Impact
- PtitDrogo (French P) lost 2-0 to TY and 2-1 to Dream
- Creator is apparently still alive, and qualified (!!) out of that same bracket, beating TY 2-0 in the winners final
- In a collection of old school people, Tails, Forte (formerly NSH Salvation), Patience (formerly known as Lucy Prime way back when), and Top were all in the same bracket (Patience and Trust qualified)
- Brazilian Terran Kelazhur lost to Solar 2-0 and Dear 2-1; former GSL champion Seed beat Dear in that bracket, but then lost to Solar and again to Dear in the qualifying match

Looks like they delayed it for at least a week to iron out some issues people were having in testing. You can play on the PTR (test) server I think.
