Ya, I always do the ramp pylon trick when I 4 gate but lately I have switched out of going 4 gate into a more defensive 3 gate robo with a chrono'd immortal to hold the 4 gate. Only time I will 4 gate is if I see the other P late with his cyber.

I got called a dirty noob yesterday when I went voidray on a terran who proxied a stargate and went cloaked banshee and lost the baserace by a mile. Nothing makes me smile more than a guy raging on me

I thought you did a nice job. I wasn't listening the whole time because occasionally I was playing, but from what I did hear you were pretty smooth without awkward transitions. Occasional mistake misnaming units, but no more than you get from tastosis. Even in some matchups that you don't play, you had solid analysis of what was going on, and what should be going on. Cocast with bbb tonight!

I did the Funday Monday today, and my brother challenged me to expand to my opponent's natural.

"Can't be done! Not as zerg..." is what I told him.

Luckily, the matchmaking gods were smiling upon me and I managed to get some platinum player. He tried the double rax bunker rush to my ramp, but the damage was already done.

Hilarity ensues. I'm going to play a bunch more games and try to make it onto Day 9's Funday daily next week.

so i have a guy named 'durrrr' in my division, he did say he plays sc2

Tried to do day9's monday funday but somehow keep losing in games when I'm up 2 bases on my opponent. It just throws me off when I don't expand to my natural but instead at another hidden expo. But what really pisses me off is when I lose to 2 base mass thors when I'm up on 4 bases

Just lost to a Zerg on Delta Quadrant (being Protoss myself). I was unfamiliar with the map and didn't realize I had a protected natural off of my main and thought I had two ramps leading into my base, and ended up choking off both sides with zealots. I of course choked off the side that wasn't the entrance to my base first, leaving myself open to destruction by early zergling runbys (which thankfully didn't come in time).

All game long my opponent had a number of overseers around my base and had changelings all around my base. I just watched the replay and he had changelings with my army when I sent it to break the rocks at the gold expansion, at which point he called in a nydus worm at my protected natural and demolished it before I could get my army back there. There would be many more nydus worms, some of which I was able to scout out and kill, but others forced me to constantly move my army between bases as I lost probes and structures.

I had an opportunity to kill him at the 15 min mark when I attacked his base with my 200 food army of collossi, zealots, sentries and stalkers against his 150 food roach/speedling/ultralisk army. I would've won the fight if I hadn't microed my colossi terribly and allowed them to sit near the frontline and be sniped, as well as getting a really bad concave. I also had WAY too many sentries, which weren't too useful with ultras in the mix. I reinforced quickly but he ended up burrowing a bunch of ultras and roaches below my colossi/stalker/zealot ball and them popping up and killing it all really fast. I think if I had reinforced with immortals/chargelots instead of stalker/colo/sentry/zealot I would've fared a lot better against his last attack.

TL;DR

So how do you guys go about prevent Zerg opponents from getting sight into your base and wreaking havoc with nydus worms or changelings? I thought about a widely-spaced cannon ring, but it seems costly. Maybe a small fleet of phoenixes to take out overlords/overseers?

You'll get used to it over time. Changelings still end up in my base from time to time, you just gotta try to see when they sneak in or when they aren't moving or whatever. It also helps to have an observer around. As far as overlord placement goes, every zerg is going to have vision. You just want to minimize it the best you can. Take out the crucial ones like the one over your ledge on LT. (Furthermore, try to do little things like hiding your army off to the side so he can't see it because you know there's an overlord there. Then he won't know when you are coming.) Also build pylons near the edges of your base and you will catch them before they get in your base.

If you happen to go stargate, when you're not harassing you can overlord hunt, but aside from that I wouldn't worry too much.

Watching your replays will help you a lot though, def keep watching whether you win or lose.

How do I report maphackers to blizz?

Sometimes people get lucky.

I have done blind ultra-risky builds on 4 player maps before.

Just last night I went for a double-gas steal vs protoss on Lost Temple and sent 2 drones blind to the closest position. Turned out to be where he was.

He might be a hacker, but he might not.

On cross map spawn, he directly sent his scv to outside my base without scouting, then built proxy barracks.

Unless you see his camera go to your base in the fog, it's still more likely that he got lucky trying to cheese.

The only known maphack for SC2 was being used by the creator and he got caught. It wasn't released to the public AFAIK.

Were the rax built in a spot where they would have been effective for a location other than yours? If he proxy raxes in a spot where he can hit two spawns, he's got a good shot at winning 2/3.

Definitely seems like he is looking at something. After first I thought maybe he just knew a barracks placement that you wouldn't see when scouting and that maybe it was in a good central location, but then he puts his rally point into your base and keeps moving his camera up a little bit like he is looking at something.

Sick hold though. You were at 173 and he was only at 50 supply.

I'd report him just because it looks suspicious. The only way I know how is by right clicking their name and then go down to Report Player.

Hell, if he didn't do anything wrong then so be it. You have nothing to lose.
