I guess I haven't played against storm much lately cause I didn't realize until last night that I don't really know what to do now (previously I would make swarm hosts) against midgame storm timings when Protoss goes for templar instead of colossi. Someone did that to me yesterday and I was like "uhh...okay, so I have some roaches and hydras...and now they're all dead..."

This is why I quit playing. Ghost vs ht is so unbalanced its crazy. People claim its fair cause snipe has+.5 or 1 range but the skill to snipe vs rain an aoe is not the same.

Cloak is really the only answer but scan for obs ahead and usually you only get one big sneak attack before they pay more attention to the cloak.

Send small groups to snipe them (with mmm) if they leave them scattered or do lots of drops/harass if they just clump their army outside their base

I think all the un-fun things about SC2 are protoss-related except the widow mine. I mean jesus, DTs, storm, force fields, cannon rushes, none of that is worthwhile. Not just race-hating because I play protoss on my alt, and I can't think of a single zerg thing that I find to be AIDS now that the swarm host is *gone*

LotV beta update incoming:

- new ghost ability to spawn a drone that locks onto a unit and reduces its armor by 3, seems like an anti-ultralisk memo. Ultras still too OP against bio, lol at Terran having to build ghosts just to take the same engagements they can now in HotS. ghost also has movement speed increased
- you'll be able to upgrade individual overlords to do drops as an alternative to researching ventral sacs? I think that's what this is saying? Seems kinda silly, dunno if I'd ever use it
- new upgrade to reduce the delay for medivacs to unload units - yeah, because Terran totally needed even more buffs to drops
- disruptor gets +shield damage to buff it in PvP
- ravager no longer armored because it dies too fast
- OP viper spell cost increased from 100 to 125, it's gonna be removed eventually anyway so who cares
- the anti-muta spore crawler buff is being reduced because nobody goes mutas in ZvZ

I don't think anyone is playing the beta.

I will go from playing someone with 45 APM straight to someone with 200 APM. No one in between so its like realize how bad folks are and go mass battle cruiser and warp into their main or get insta stomped by a diamond/masters player

The beta is working for me, have you tried re-installing? If it still isn't working for you, you should report it to Blizzard in case there is some weird bug related to your hardware setup, the beta is working and your problem is either with a bad installation or some really weird bug with your computer (which in case, Blizzard would be really interested in investigating and resolving as it would also effect others, thus the purpose of having a beta). The beta is up and working and has been for almost everyone. If you want to play you either need to troubleshoot on your own or contact Blizzard for support.

I mean don't worry, myself and dozens of others have reported that error happening to them, it looks like across several months, on the battle.net forums and Blizzard has replied saying they're aware of the problem. It doesn't look like they care or will ever get around to fixing it.

I tried going through their ticket system but

A) the options to choose from are super-confusing
B) later, they just linked me right to the forum thread I already posted in and
C) given that and what others have said, again, I think they don't give a **** whatsoever.

Sorry, I didn't realize that, and I have not been reading their forums so didn't realize they cared so little. That sucks, sorry.

The frustration is real

I mean how mad can you get when they're giving you free access to an early game, but on the other hand they got my hopes up and then they are just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think there are both optimistic (HotS had the same relationship in its first two beta months) and pessimistic (good lord nobody gives a **** about LotV right now) ways to look at this.

Unfortunately there's nothing optimistic to be found in SC2 posting its worst viewcount month since they started tracking it.

Looks like the gimmick 4th is impossible to hold for Zerg so we'll have to take one that's far away and prob not terribly difficult to deny, so that's fun.

Bridgehead



This looks super weird and I don't really know what to make of it yet. Looks like a short rush distance but also lots of opportunities to take well-protected bases. I think Protoss will probably excel here.

Dash and Terminal



Scrap Station 2.0? This map is going to be a ****ing nightmare if reapers can get to the main via the direct path. I think Protoss is going to have a pretty bad time against Zerg though, at least until the meta of holding off the various early attack paths available to Zerg is developed.

Moonlight Madness



Looked alright until I realized I wasn't exactly sure where the 4th is supposed to be taken. Zerg gonna have a bad time against Terran.

Terraform won the TL Map thing right? That is some gimmicky nonsense. Although, maybe some wild **** will be good for the popularity of the game or something, idk.

I'm 99% sure reapers can't cross Dash the short way as it looks in the images. When the mineral patches are tucked back in like that you have to go around.

I agree, Bridgehead looks super weird.

Map pool looks really fun actually. I'm sad about Echo and Vaani though.
