Also if I played Zerg I'd downvote LT just because of Terran. Thor drops are so ******ed to deal with as Zerg lol. It takes them like 2 minutes of tech + like 1500+ resources to deal with a Thor on a cliff, even if they manage to scout it (which they don't usually).

Edit: I was able to reset my password and can log in no problem. I'm on back shift currently so am logging in at weird hours of the day when I never used to. That probably set off a red flag that I might be logging in from China or w/e.

Well I'm sure they know where you are logging in from.

I doubt hours matter that much. I never sleep at the same time so I have literally no pattern to my log ins.

Might want to be sure you didn't get phished or anything.

Apparently there is a thread on reddit about this. People are purposely trying to spam login accounts to get them suspended by blizzard for suspicious activity, then sending phishing emails to get your password knowing that you're going to open them. So the safest bet is probably just to call blizzard or go to the actual battle.net and ignore all emails.

I haven't gotten any emails that could possibly any form of phishing - I don't play WoW, so there's not much point in stealing my battle.net account (unless someone wants the prestige of a high-platinum SC2 player, lol), and my login history only shows times I actually logged in. Someone that doesn't have any pattern to their logins probably wouldn't trigger a red flag, but for someone like me that really only ever logged in from like 10am-2am for like 6 months, my 6:30am login this morning to watch some replays winding down after work probably triggered one.

BigT got one of those warnings too and he plays constantly. I think for someone who plays as much as him, there really isn't a pattern to when he plays.

If the drop comes at ~11 minutes it sounds too late to me. Mutas come out at like 9-10 minutes and lose to, for example, FFE into 6 gate timing attacks, unless you make enough spines+lings, so you would have to worry about either a base trade or potentially being overwhelmed when you do drop them.

If they FFE into 1-2 stargates before anything else I imagine you'd be pretty far ahead teching straight to hydras as long as they're out early enough. Not sure that drops are the safest thing to do in that situation, but they'd definitely end it before you have to worry about void ray+colossus balls of death.

well mutas lose to the 6gate because they suck in a fight. hydras tear through gateway units, cost less gas, and i can tech to them quicker. obviously if i try to drop them as they're attacking it won't go so well but i'm usually able to scout the 6gate in which case i just delay my drop tech and get more units.

Just got back from a 3 week vacation and played my first starcraft match today and I'm sluggish as hell. So hard to maintain good performance after a little break. I feel like i'm playing at 50% of my normal efficiency.

My little brother who is 14 plays zerg and is in the silver league. I've just bought the game and I'd like to own him really hard with either Terran or Protoss. What's the best thing i can do to improve my game ?

(Never played warcraft/starcraft before but familiar with video games and rts)

if you just want to win a game or two, 2rax SCV all-in w/ terran. if you thoroughly want to crush him, protoss stargates into colossus.

kinda kidding, but not really lol. first thing you should do is pick a race and stick with it. terran and protoss are both strong races. personally i think protoss is strongest although IMmvp's slaughtering of tester last night in GSL is making me reconsider. after you pick a race you need to learn a basic build order. i would suggest teamliquid.net. they have a starcraft wikipedia and have a lot of build orders there. after that its just practicing your build order and eventually learning to scout and how to react to what you're scouting.

Funny horrible game. I tried to do a hydra drop that I seen on the gsl. Instead of going for the main I went for the natural. I still had a huge food lead but at the end I almost said gg and left

if you actually read other peoples posts in this thread, you would have seen that i suggested this strategy several days ago before nestea did it in GSL. the key is to drop the main because A. his army will be further away and B. you gain the high ground and choke point advantage. not to mention that their key production facilities are usually in the main, not the natural.

OMG its so brutal my MMR dropped from like 2500 diamond to gold over a similar break . Mechanics are pretty important apparently.

I have more tricks up my sleeve that I stole from various replays that I watched. That ramp pylon 4 gate thing is dirty.

3 colo + range timing attack is pretty hard to stop too.

But in general pvp is gay.
