lol maximus, loses as protoss and decides Cyclone is OP, decides to play as Terran, can't win with cyclone and gets ass kicked by disrupters.

so again, anyone overreacting to units/balance several hours into the ****ing beta (which is everyone) ...lol @ you.

MaximusBlack being a tool doesn't make everything he says wrong by default. Also, just because Protoss is OP doesn't mean that I'm wrong if I switch to Protoss and don't immediately win my next 5 games.

My balance predictions for HotS were pretty on point I think (remember when I predicted Innovation to win WCS S3 last year before the widow mine buff? I do), I don't think I'll be very far off in LotV. It's not like it's race bias, I also think the viper thing will be one of the first to go, if Zerg ever lives long enough in a game to make them.

Kaitlyn's been making them a fair amount so far and their splash ability does almost nothing (I haven't noticed if whatever additional upgrades they get over a roach are OP or not though).

goofy, i wasn't making any point whatsoever about him being right/wrong, i was 100% making fun of him for being a tool about balance. He lost a game, one game, to a wave of cyclones, used that as confirmation bias to what was already in his head, and then decided that Toss was no longer for him and he had better play OP Terran. Like, 3 hours into the beta playing against players of completely unknown strength in a game that has been completely redesigned so that the builds and strategies aren't in place and won't be for awhile. You can speculate all you want, but it's going to be a long time before we know anything about how this actually plays and what changes need to be made to units and balance. I'm simply making fun of how stupid it is to get all fired up about the units right now, but unfortunately that seems to be what 95% of the community is doing.

My only thought is that I want to learn toss just to mess around with the disrupter. Looks like a unit that would be equal parts fun and frustrating.

EDIT: Now they are ragging on Yoda for building his first gas on the side of his base that gets scouted first by the overlord because it gives away... something. I guess that he's not going 1rax gasless expand?

If they completely did away with widow mines and kept cyclones and seige tank drops, that would provide the maximum fun factor for me. mines are just AIDS gameplay, they aren't fun to use and aren't fun to play against

While I don't give Tasteless credit for thinking this deeply about it, it probably does give away Yoda's build to a certain extent. Pros probably know the timings well enough that DRG can look at how much gas was mined and know if it was gas first vs normal reaper open, possibly even tell the difference between 11 rax/11 gas vs 12/12 or 12/13 or whatever.

He also talks about ravagers and how they kinda break the PvZ meta since they can bust down force fields - he's probably right, I'm not sure if any of the Protoss changes help them push back the midgame roach-heavy Zerg timings that they would have previously held off with force fields. Maybe the disruptor, but he's already talked about how OP that is.

I feel like it's much more important to hide timing of the second gas from your opponent than the timing of the first.

Played a few games tonight, first time in like well over a year. I am not good. Very bad. Lost what little bit of skill I had. I don't remember builds or anything. It may be time to check out filter's vids again.
