Your engagements could be better, more surrounds, more right click past then surround etc. It is hard though, I have A move then desperately fail to micro banes disease also. If you watch top Koreans play ZvT and focus only on their engagements and what they do with their mouse, it will help you get the idea.

Also are you still playing with your lap top on a coffee table??

I actually micro my banes more heavily than any other unit. I'm usually a-moving lings/ultras and a-moving mutas (will focus them on medivacs if there's a good opportunity to do so), then I select my bane group and spend most of the battle microing them specifically.

That's what I mean wrt the banes. I do it too, a move then try to micro banes but its often bad because they can kite and split backwards. Getting the proper surround by continuing to micro lings is more important often.

Also when how'd you get back in diamond? I am plat/plat, assume I am just not playing enough, about 50 games each server this season between EU and NA. MMR rating tool plugin on SC2 gears has me a lot closer to masters line than plat so not getting the promo before lock on both servers despite 70% WR or something in plat is quite annoying.

played some 2v2s for the first time in a month or so last night.. can just say, thank god for supply depot calldowns.

apm was down easy 25%, barracks were empty for a while, rallies were missed. luckily we dont play enough to be in diamond anymore and we have 700 bonus pool in gold, so games were still won

I dunno, I expect to be placed in gold or plat next week cause I haven't played ranked in 2-3 months. I'm curious if I'll be able to get diamond back when that happens. I initially got promoted from gold to diamond in a span of three games, I guess right after Blizzard tweaked something on the ladder, feels like a mistake tbh.

Damn, I assume I'll get promoted in both soon after next season since you are supposed to win at 50% not 70% and i match against a lot of Diamonds and very high plats who used to be diamonds/masters.

Wonder how accurate that MMR plugin is? Supposedly with a few good games its pretty good and they recently adjusted the lines.

Ideally what you want to do is right click past the bio, a move just the lings if you can, once they're properly positioned behind the bio (I usually just a move lings and banes since they're on the same ctrl group, prob a leak), then grab the banelings and send them towards the clumps of marines. I don't a-move banelings, I just right click groups of them towards the middle of the marine packs - it makes a difference. If they can get into the ball they're going to maximize damage rather than blowing up on the first one they contact. Once the zerglings are in a good position you only need to worry about getting good baneling hits. Mutas I generally go after the medivacs but it's fine to a move them too as long as you're focusing on getting good baneling hits.

IRT ladder, I'll be dipped in **** and rolled in breadcrumbs if I get placed into masters... Probably gonna have to do some more ladder grinding to get there again, which I actually look forward to. Once I got to masters this season I stopped playing SC entirely haha.

FML I'm 28 def feeling the video game decline a bit. Also I suck so bad at this game still. I was playing the AI on hard and it was zvz and I was winning pretty decidingly (they were pulling probes only had 1-2 bases mid game). I somehow couldn't close the damn game out and they came back (prob with far superior upgrades) and just rolled my army.

I was playing a guy online and scouted an early forge so check for proxy, nothing. I go back for a later overlord scout and see a robo facility. I forgot what you guys said to use. I was trying to get a spire out, I should've gone what? Roach/hydra/bane?

You did it right, spire is good vs robo. Robo units don't shoot up.

He obv had stalkers too. I just wasn't sure what the right comp was to balance it. It was like 4-5 immortals, 15~ stalkers and zealots. I'm just awful though. I need to practice more.

If you go mutas, you need to go FULL muta. The idea is that he can't make enough stalkers to combat your mutas, and everything else he has doesn't shoot up, so once you take out the stalkers in a fight his army is worthless. Sometimes he will have enough stalkers though and in those situations mutas have to be used to harass his bases, be where his army isn't, take advantage of your mobility/speed and probably turn the game into a base trade.

I am admittedly bad at using mutas in ZvP though.

Swarm hosts are also really good against gateway compositions with immortals or archons but if he's doing a two base all-in you won't get them out in time.

spire is good vs robo but the spire takes approximately a year to build. more important than scouting the robo is scouting what comes out of the robo. if he's making immortals, hydras are fine. if he's making colossi...well, you probably want either vipers or corruptors.

I don't know if I buy that slowing garbage. I'm not gonna read the whole thing, but I'd venture to guess that there is a difference among players of different skill levels and that in itself would suggest something else is prob going on.

- I go hatch first vs gold P on habitation, as my overlord floats over I see a probe going to the gold base, so I figure he's gonna do some gold base nexus **** and go hatch first into gas. Imagine my surprise when my hatch finishes and there's two cannons warping in next to it. Oops. I lose the hatch but get spines out in a position to kill the pylon w/o taking damage, so I re-expand and take the gold and scout his base with overlords and see a ****ton of gateways. Sigh. With my bases maybe 60% saturated I started cranking out roaches and barely hold against a long attack of zealots-stalkers, he retreats to take a 3rd (at his natural, he did wind up expanding to the gold base first) and then a 4th that I am powerless to do anything about. So I do the only thing a Zerg can: maek swarm hosts. He tries to go around them most of the time with his army, and it's pretty easy to do that on Habitation, until he builds up enough colossi that he can start to take them on. I add a bunch of corruptors and kill the colossi (and focus down the observers so he can't kill my SHs, so expert), then he goes mostly into archons and blink stalkers and tries to just avoid the locusts. I finally get enough of a bank that I can move my corruptors up to his main and morph about 18 broods over it; he tries to come back with his stalkers, but 18 broods is some serious **** and he can't get under them to start focusing down very well. I lose a few broods but kill almost all of his stalkers, he tries to counter with some archons/DTs but I left my swarm hosts at home to defend bases and he ggs out.
- Plat T on Daedalus, he does some super fast marine-hellion rush (but not a proxy? like creep at my natural was out enough that he couldn't put bunker in range to shoot it, not sure what the point is) with a bunker at my natural but while he's up trying to kill my queens I bring lings around the back to kill the bunker, everything dies with the total damage being 1 queen lost + lots of lings made. With my lings I run to his main, and stupidly send 1 ling up and see his depots down. By the time I can bring the rest of my lings up he raises the depots. Sigh, would have ended the game instantly. I pull the lings back to his natural, my overlord spots him moving down the ramp eventually and I manage to kill two siege tanks with the lings before marines focus them down. He tries to drop my 3rd and do the typical Terran bull**** (pick up, go to high ground, drop again) but I don't have drones at my third yet so there's nothing for them to fire at. He decides to drop my main, where I have a spore (an earlier scout made it look like he might go banshee) so that goes disastrously for him. I get up to 4 bases while he takes 3, I deny his attempts to take a 4th repeatedly, get good creep spread going, and bitchslap down every pushout he makes. The fact that he keeps rebuilding armies of tanks and medivacs makes me start wondering how it's possible for Terran to build so much off 3 bases. Eventually as I push into his 3rd he leaves.
- Gold T on Daedalus, for some reason I forget to scout in this game so naturally it's the one game where I'm getting 2raxed. He gets bunkers up and kills my natural (I reacted so late I didn't even try to hold it), his bunkers are at the top side of my natural (I spawned on the bottom) so after getting ling speed I was able to run lings down and around the perimeter of my natural so that he couldn't see them. I got a creep tumor down before hatch died so he couldn't put bunkers in that area to contain. I get to his base with like 20-30 lings, he has nothing there obviously (except CCs and workers LOL TERRAN) and start killing depots and workers and ****, he pushes out from his bunkers and tries to get up my main ramp but dies to 1 spine, a queen or two, and a drone pull. I make sure to send him a "hahahahahaha" + insta-block after he leaves.

and if a terran 2rax and loses to ling run by, you should prob never lose to him ever.
