Ketroc just played a 50 minute TvZ on his stream that made me unable to believe he's in diamond. Terrible macro, really bad control + map awareness, and yet the strength of making PFs everywhere + mass raven means he can force games almost an hour long against players way better than him. Disgusting.

Apparently he plays on a barcode now. I figured it had to be him when I saw the mass ravens/planetaries. I def would have cheesed if i knew I was playing ketroc.

saw a game where he tried to 2rax vP and his kiting/stutter step was atrocious.. floating like 1k+ mins too (on an allin..)

ends up "basetrading" cause hes obv dead, puts his units in the middle of probes/nexus cannon/warpin zealots and is surprised that 1 warp in killed him.

is he actually good in any way or just came up with the strangest build?

Placed in Silver NA lol. 40-10 or something in my last 50 games, all 10 I lost were vs former masters and diamonds. I drop a league every season despite having the highest win rate in the whole league every season. Dat MMR system is really working well Blizzard. Well done chaps.

Meanwhile on EU despite playing almost no games on there in the last 6 months, only dropped to plat. Makes perfect sense!

so two questions- how do you beat each of the following armies (assume protoss takes an early third off of stargate pressure)

colossus/void ray

colossus/chargelot/templar

i've been having problems with both (having a lot of problems with ZvP in general, actually). vs the first, i've been trying to go swarm hosts with spines, but i always find that they tend to push out before i have enough SHs (ranges from being close to 'oh **** i just lose i have four SHs).

vs the second, i just die no matter what i have. can't go hydra because FFs+chargelots+storm wreck them. can't go roach for similar reasons and roaches just don't have the DPS. can't go mutas because of templar. haven't tried going SHs yet- is that the answer? can't go infestors because of feedback.

i hate hate hate playing against chargelot based protoss armies because of the ridiculously small amount of micro protoss requires to use them (micro is almost counterproductive with them), how the basis of their army is all minerals, and how much you have to micro the expensive part of your army just to trade with the (essentially) free part of theirs.

I would not attribute the mmr decay being the reson for this. Real reason is the change in league structure. Before the change, here were something like 16% players in masters (correct me if I am wrong) but they changed it 2%. Couple that with mmr decay, it is normal to master league players who have no been active, to get dropped down to lower leagues.

Vs first, mutas if you see robo first. If SG first and you see them go voidrays...infestors. couple fungals on those sons of bitches, and toss has to recall, while you are teching to ultras. Vs second you really should go mutas. Who cares if couple of storms hit, you have insane regen. Mutas give you map control, which you use to get multple bases and tech.

Obviously if you sense early aggression coming, roaches. But never go roach hydra. Ever.

It was more like 8% iirc. League reshuffle does not explain it at all. If it was just the leagues being reshuffled and my MMR was the same and matched my actual skill then I would simply be playing all players of my own skill but in a lower league right? But that's not what's happening. I am playing total noobs and stomping them with ling only, or only building queens until the 15th minute. Unless the odd game happens where I meet an ex diamond or ex master who is suffering the same issue I am but that's like less than a third of the games I would say. Poor poor silvers and bronizes. Must be getting spanked all the time. Meanwhile I lose all motivation to play because I will most likely just be playing noobs forever because I don't play enough to fight against the tide of decay. Go 40-10 one season? DEMOTION! I am heading to the bottom of bronze as the system currently works.
