I guess my question is - assuming that mod doesn't have the derping units that SC1 did, and you could select 30 units at a time if you wanted, and you could hotkey buildings...
- would all the OMGBWBESTAMAZINGMICROGAMEEVER crowd still enjoy playing that just as much as they enjoy playing BW?
- would really good SC2 players who went to start playing this game just make deathballs and kick the crap out of old-timers who try to play the game like it's BW?

i would say no goofy. BW is a much slower game so it actually takes a lot of time to get a huge deathball army and the macro to get to that army is harder in BW. i believe BW only starts with 4 workers and there is no larva inject, MULE, or chronoboost. also you can't rally your workers to mine so you everytime a worker is made you have to manually tell it to go to a mineral patch.

only buy blue switches if you are a really fast typer with a strong mastery of the keyboard and you want to maximize your skills

if you suck and have delicate sensibilities, get another switch color

Thought this would be a bigger deal around here

If anyone wants to see it in action: Two stream games, ZvZ and ZvT

Some things feel way sharper - spreading creep, and doing things like splitting off a ling to a watchtower for example. On the downside, the shoulder buttons on the sides of the mouse are harder to use than the ones on my trackball, so while the above two games don't have me trying to use them (that's where infestors/swarm hosts/vipers go), I feel like that could be awkward while trying to use them. I might try having both of the buttons on the left side be mapped to the same group and both buttons on the right side be mapped to the same group, cause accessing the individual ones on the left with my thumb is awk and I've hit the ones on the right accidentally a couple times. Also, maybe I just don't have a perfect feel for the control of the mouse yet but a couple times a game during engagements I'm accidentally hitting the side of the screen and scrolling in situations where I don't want to. Could also be the awkwardness of my setup (my arm is more beside me than extending in front of me to use it on the couch, prob limits my range of motion a little).

What are your guys' thoughts on shoulder buttons on mice? Any in particular you like?

Like, I found these:

exceptionally easy to operate with my index finger. These:

(with matching ones on the opposite side, it's ambidextrous) seem a bit more difficult to use since it's with the fingers you're supposed to be holding the mouse with? Maybe I'll get used to it, idk.

In other news:
- Kane leaves Root, joins MyInsanity, they actually have solid players of each race now (Stardust + Jjakji)
- It appears that MMR does decay over time, which I guess didn't used to happen, so that can explain league drops in new seasons if you haven't been that active

eta: looking at various gaming mouse manufacturers' sites (Razer, Mad Catz, Tt esports are all huge offenders so far) it's a huge turnoff to me how many of these things look like misplaced props from the set of the latest Transformers movie

I think the deathadder has pretty good side buttons. I use them for Ctrl/Shift instead of extra groups though.

Wow, never thought of adding groups to the buttons on the side of the mouse.

I only use those buttons for Back and Forward while browsing the internet. I considered adding control groups, but similar to my random screen hotkey on capslock, I don't know what I'd use it for. Since I only use 5 control groups and have never really felt like I needed more.

In other news, I might come back to SC2 for a while after Worlds is over.

I have both side buttons set to ctrl on my logitech g400. I always found it awkward to create contol groups with one hand and I don't like taking my hand off the mouse either. I tried using the extra buttons on top of the g400 for things like patrol, select idle workers, and control groups but now I don't use those buttons much.

Yeah. Again, Blizzard baffles me with their balance changes, they put their foot on the gas every few months, instead of slight adjustments more often. Why not start at like 1.5 or 1.4 and go from there?

Is David Kim gm in all three races? A friend said he was but that would just prove you don't have to have a clue to be GM.

IRT Mouse buttons I have the back one bound to double click (easy to "ctrl click" all units of a type), and forward as base camera to scroll through the bases for fast injects.

So my G9x is 'defective'. It is loose where the grip attaches to the mouse, and theres a bit of play when I move the mouse side to side. I ghetto rigged it by sticking some scotch tape over where the grips click in, and that improved it by like 98%, but I emailed logitech and they want to send me a replacement. For some ******ed reason, they discontinued the G9x, and don't really have an equivalent replacement. The g9x is a "claw grip" mouse. I had never used one but I was amazed how well it fit in my hand and my control really improved. It also has adjustable weights that you can pop in/out of the mouse to make the feel really perfect. RIP G9x:

They're offering me the G602 Wireless gaming mouse, which is wireless but extremely long battery life and high response speed, has 6 side buttons which I think is cool, and some innovative grip system on the mouse.
The G602:

They're also offering me the G600 MMO mouse. The obvious point of the G600 is it has a million buttons on the side. I watched a review video on it and they said it is not easy to misclick a side button, as they are all well defined. The G600 also has a ring finger click button, and is wired.
The G600:

I don't really play MMO's at this point in my gaming career, but I like side buttons (maybe not THAT many) for quick access keys like in sc2 as described earlier, a melee attack or quick weapon switch in FPS, or some ability in League of Legends. On the other hand I am a little wary to get a wireless mouse - my last was the performance MX and it was good for poker, ****ty for gaming. It's hard to tell how they will feel in my hand, and the G602 just kind of looks a little wack imo... Neither mouse has the adjustable weight system that the G9x has

I'm leaning towards the 602, but I really can't decide. My main feeling is of hatred for logitech for discontinuing such an awesome piece of hardware. Which one should I get?

Before we make any big decisions, we’d like to play some balance test maps with you, to see how some stark changes play out. As always, this isn’t final. This is testing.

DT change allows it to now outrun archons, workers, and everything else up to (but not including) reapers. This includes stalkers, speed roaches off creep, ultras, slow lings, and speed hydras off creep.
