Starcraft 2 (GAME IS NOW FREE!) - Page 7 - Video Games

Sweet. Just won my first FFA, 1v3. Didn't really know what it was and it said it was unranked so I figured I'd try it out.

Was on Metalopolis. Attacked first with 2 VRs and took out the first Protoss main on my own. He didn't have much of anything.

Scouted the Zerg and he had some Hydras so I tried backing off, but he got one of my VRs. Got 2 more and attacked his gold expansion, but he held me off there for a little bit.

Got Colossi and took that gold expansion out. Took out the gold expansion of the Protoss. Took out the Zerg's natural expansion and then his main.

And then I took out the other Zerg and his expansion. Guy at the end said, "Nice pwnage." haha

I never got attacked once and pretty much rolled these guys. FFA seems very soft.

Edit: Watching the replay, Zerg 1 and Zerg 2 are going back and forth while I'm pretty much building up, taking out the Protoss, building up more, taking out expansions, etc. Zerg 1 says, "Blue (his color), I'm the least of your worries." Zerg 2 says, "I noticed." hahahaha

This is a 100% how FFA works. Sometimes you get attacked by three guys and you WILL die. Just need to get lucky and be the guy that gets left alone by everyone. Trick is sometimes to not piss anybody off and harass because they will be gunning for you hard after that.

Brag: I got promoted into gold.
Beat: I expected to move straight to platinum after beating a couple platinum players. :-(
variance: i managed to end the day with a round W/L record of 30-20

note: 3 Rax is awesome for low level games but fails versus turtlers.

you left out the plat+ guy who asks something like "how do you get more points for a win? last time i played i only got 10 points but sometimes i get more" which means you better scout every inch in and around your base

haha just had a hilarious FFA. i insta moved by base to the highground expansion. got scouted early game and one of the guy says "what happened to red hes not in his base?" to which i responded "he left when the game started didnt you see?" lolol. nobody tocuhed me for half the game and i just rolled out with 10 tanks and a ****on of vikings. won the game like a boss.

i just played a zerg who 6-pooled and, since i screwed up my ramp wall, he got in my base. He got all my SCVs except 2 and 2 marines, then he says "gg, I 6 pooled"... well fwd 12 mins later and I am still alive even tho i had 20 minerals at that point. I held off his obvious mutas, etc.. eventually expanded and FINALLY he nyduses a ton of units in my base and says "***, you got raped"

Just did cooperative 2vAI on Medium, pretty fun. Took some Void Rays and won by myself. haha

Then I did a coop 3vAI on Medium...wow...much harder. It was like they were attacking us all at once. I was going void rays again, but I couldn't hold them off by myself.

One of the other protoss on my team ended up quitting so I took control of his base and my base, went carriers and we went 2v3 and stomped the AI on our own. Was pretty cool to get control of the other guys base, but I have to say 3vAI on Medium was a lot harder if you're just screwing around.

Yeah, having to tech to ultras to counter units terran can build right away is super fair. Jesus.

IIRC, not until after the first season. So... 3-4 months in? Even then I don't think they beefed up cannons and sunkens for months after that (previously they were super worthless vs light units). I'm unsure when they finally decreased the spawn rate on hatcheries, but Z was so ridic at the start of SC it was crazy.
