I will say it must take much more skill to successfully CAST a league of legends games. During a team fight it looks like a total cluster****ball of pixels and effects going off all at once, and the casters always seem to know exactly what's going on. Maybe it's due to my inexperience with all the champions and what their abilities are, I guess.

Yeah, the learning curve of champion abilities/interactions can be rough. I'd say if you want to get the most of your LoL spectating experience without playing too much, I'd suggest looking up each champ that is being played. It won't be perfect without the experience of playing with/against the champions, but having at least a small understanding of their capabilities is better than being like "WTF is Thresh? What is flay/death sentence? WTF IS GOING ON HERE?!"

last fall when i got WoL i started in bronze having never played rts since i was like 12 playing command and conquer. i played someone "EGIdra" as zerg, and since i had watched sc2 for a while i was like oh ok, 6 pool otw. snap wall and he 6ps but im so bad and lose to 1 base banes

Yeah, I feel like it would be extremely hard to lose to anyone if that was the case... Slowest speed is SO slow, you could keep your money so low and micro units like automaton2000.
