The 9 ladder maps, plus two new maps made by OGN (which will not be on ladder), will make a pool of 11 maps, from which each WCS region can select 7 to be part of their map pool for the WCS tournament.

does anyone else here listen to SOTG/meta? i've been telling goofy and bobman to listen to it for months and they both troll me and don't listen to it but it's pretty entertaining

Meta started off really good, but they've been focusing a bit too much on tournament rundowns the past couple weeks for my liking. I haven't watched SotG for months and tbh, even if Meta becomes SOTG 3.0 (ITG being 2.0, which started the same way as Meta), it will still be superior because Artosis will at least interject more strategy discussion into his show.

Ok, I just figured out podcasts on my phone and downloaded the latest episodes so I'll give Meta a shot tonight when I go to the gym.

Hmm...kinda wish the ladder season had another few weeks to see what these TL Maps are all about.

SotG is getting way to euro'y for my liking. I also agree with narwhal that meta is starting to become a little too focused on tournament results. Still enjoy listening to both though.

Civ 4 > Civ 5. Not up for debate.

I got through 35 minutes of Meta at the gym, was an interesting listen and I like the strat talk about the GSL finals games, but man the episode is 2 hours long!!! That's insane. I dunno when I would be able to finish listening - the thing about spoken word shows like this is that you can't (or I can't, at least) multitask them, cause if you aren't focusing on listening to them then you can't keep track of what they're talking about. I put it back on while writing this post and tuned out long enough to lose my sense of what was going on. :/

Also had a lollerskates ZvT tonight against a typical patchterran who went bio/medivac/widow mine/tank. I went up to 4 bases on Derelict Watcher, made lings/banes/mutas, he does the typical pussy-ass "burrow widow mines just outside creep and try to bait zerg units into chasing you down" ****. I bait out mine shots and when successful clean them up with my mutas where possible, generally hold him off without taking too much damage, get up to ultras, clean up his army a couple times but always taking enough damage that I can't really counter.

Anyway, we remax, eventually I'm sitting in the middle of the map and he's sitting on the edge of creep with his army with his widow mines burrowed, and I chat "this is a really boring game". He then gets mad at me and says I am "literally the boringest Zerg he has ever played". It amuses me greatly that he plants widow mines everywhere and then calls me boring for not attacking into him.

Anyway, we engage at some point and again we each kill a bunch of stuff and since I give approx 0 ****s about this game and want to troll I just jam the 'a' key to remax (for non-Zergs, that is swarm hosts). I plant them down and rally towards his mines and army and then basically do nothing for awhile. Oh and I'm still on 4 bases and never really take a 5th. He's on 4-5 bases the whole game, so he has zero excuse for losing to me.

Anyway he starts a battlecruiser transition and attacks me with like 6 BCs. I take a couple out with mutas, trade away my ultras asap, and then jam the 'c' button to remax (for non-Zergs, that is corruptors). Turns out corruptors are really good against battlecruisers cause they all die, and the swarm hosts are preventing any ground units from helping him work down my corruptors, so he gets mad and says wow battlecruisers suck and quits.

LOL, at the end of the game I had 63 idle drones. But he had 50% more resources lost than me (44k vs 28k) so I still had a huge bank while he was dead in the water.

i dont think anyone here thinks you would have a small bank in a game lasting longer than 10 minutes

At some point, someone needs to conduct a detailed textual analysis of goofy's posting and figure out what he thinks "patchterran" means.

Patchterrans make excessive use of widow mines and hellbats.

The guy was in Bronze, then HoTS came out, now hes mid masters. ****ing patchterrans :P.

Also Yoda used to be in Code S, then HOTS came out and he got stomped by a bunch of Zergs and now he's in Code A. This is also indicative of patchterranness.
