Getting early speed is basically always a good decision for players not GM or something. It just allows you to be so much safer

You're prob better than my opponents but lots of ppl go voids and then I attack, kill their wall, walk in and kill their ground army, kill the nat, sometimes I can even kill the main nexus too before all my roaches die. Throw up a hydra den at home and I have hydras popping when the counter hits and it's game over.

A game last night was like worst case for me (was gonna nydus his main but oracle scouted it at last second, he had dark shrine so my initial roaches have to turn back without killing a ton to avoid being shredded w/ no detection) and I still won. Protosses are BAD.

I'm with bsball on this. Yeah it puts me a little behind if he plays greedy, but for someone in Platinum league - I was dying in WoL, like, ALL THE TIME to 6-7 minute pushes with marines and a couple tanks because I didn't have ling speed and a baneling nest ready. When I started saying "ok, I'm gonna get all this stuff early just in case", I started winning. My scouting isn't good enough to know when I do or don't need early gas. I had a game last night where I didn't take early ling speed (scouted fast expand) and I straight up lost the game (didn't die but he did too much damage) to his first 10 marines walking across the map w/ no upgrades and just killing a lot of ****, and obv I didn't know his marines were coming until they showed up.


And as for that game - yeah, I need to get into a mindset of attacking more midgame. I turtled all day in WoL and I guess we can't do that anymore. :/

Drone count is something I have no idea how to manage. I don't understand how it is that I'm supposed to take 5/6 bases, be mining from them, and still have an army.

Adrenal glands - yeah I forgot. I remember it in most games but sometimes I don't.

How many drones do you usually build? 3 optimally saturated bases + one base mining only gas gets you to 72 drones, which is pretty fine. Unless you're in a weird game, you'll usually be running out of minerals in your main by the time you're considering taking a 5th.

Protosses at your level (plat?) are bad. If you want I'll play you a couple of games, and maybe not suck so much... Same with anyone here really, would love some fun show matches if we can get a time to do it.

as zerg when u have 10k/5k u dont sack drones, u just make spines and spores all over the place

also when i play PvZ i love when zerg doesnt take a 3rd. just put up 1-2 extra cannons and get sentries out and u can hold any roach/bane allin np.

Ah yeah obv deoxy, my bad lol.

Makes it pretty easy to see your saturation with the numbers at each base now. As said above, your main is gonna be completely empty, altho only leaving 3 when 6 would do doesn't hurt either. Even leaving like 12 each on 5 base you could lose a hatch and not be grossly overly saturated when you pull back. Kinda can't hurt to just make bases as any race

eifer, I just played your friend whose account you were playing HotS on before. I shut down a couple hellbat drops and then it turns out roach-hydra w/ superior upgrades is kinda good vs biomine.

How to lose a TvZ because you're really bad at Starcraft

This is after he attacked with a bunch of hellions and marines and I had like no army. He killed my natural + all the workers there and some workers at my main.

I managed to hold his next attack with a good ling surround + baneling hits on his hellions, making him turn around his bio.

Hrm. That's a situation where I feel like, I'm maxed, I'm on a good bank, I need to start forcing engagements with Terran and trading until I bleed him dry. Like, after that ZvT I posted earlier where I lost people were pointing out that I was way too passive and need to be attacking more...which means I don't really get to pick the terms of the engagement.

He wasn't moving around btw, think his whole army was just chilling there.

at his third with like half that, ez surround when he tries to defend. if he stays home, it dies v v v often

i almost want to see how he manages this, unless you showed units tab at his big failed attack because you had like 16 mutas building/about to start and he had zero marines, turrets, scouting, damage control skills and decided that he never needed to re focus on economy.

What I might suggest then is doing stuff like baiting him...maybe send in a small group of mutas or something that Terrans love to kill and get him to walk out. It doesn't have to be far- your engagement angle, while bad, is actually pretty close to being great.

People are dumb- doing things like this will encourage them to be even more dumb.

msspyte coaches for $25/hr...I feel like every person is just paying $25/hr to be on skype and talk about Starcraft. There has to be a number of GM players who charge <$25/hr and have less requests.

Also nydus > waiting for him to move out

Also terrans positioning is terrible there anyway, good vs ling baneling maybe but not vs ling ultra. That whole situation is not worth any thought at all the terran has 0 chance of winning. His marines don't even look like they have combat shield.

how is nydus better than waiting for him to move out? you want your whole army back in your half the map, hoping he cant find a circle thats contained within his 3 bases full of buildings and units?
