just having so much fun. only time i play sc2 is when i force myself to, and it's like a chore. like narwhal, im also really frustrated with zerg at the moment, but i think it's for a lack of not understanding the new meta well... not so much balance (altho medivac boost does need something nerfed about it)

LoL is a game that no matter what happens you can always blame your losses on other people.

I'm only mid platinum but I am having fun with zerg right now. Maybe it is because I took a break from December until hots release? I am having fun trying out the swarm host though it is a bit of a learning curve. I haven't even touched the viper yet so today I plan on trying roach/hydra into viper vs terran and protoss instead of the swarmhost play I have been doing.

The only thing I am not liking too much is how zvz has turned into muta vs muta, never engage and base trade.

the zvz matchup is enough to make me hate zerg right now. i hated it enough in WoL, and it's even worse now. i played like 10 games yesterday, and 8 were zvz.

Problem with ZvZ is no other composition than mass muta never transition seems particularly good. I tried hydra infestor. You just die to banelings and mutalisks. It is still quite fun for me though as I never used muta's in WoL for the most part.

I feel your pain thats how I felt when 1-1-1 was the ****.

One thing that's given me trouble recently - trying to work on taking quicker 3rds against FFE or CC first/1rax FE. Specifically against Protoss, 4 early zealots at the third can really **** my world up and force a cancel and put me behind. What's the typical way to deal with that? Usually I build a lot of queens, but the fast third hatch puts me behind on minerals for awhile in terms of being able to get the extra queens for creep/defense.

Like 3 or 4 sets of lings +1 queen should handle 4 zealots. Just don't make so many drones early on?

You should know the zealots are coming a mile away. Zealots are slow as ****, so if they somehow show up at your third and you're unaware, you did something wrong. Plus, if you hold them off you're ahead a lot tech-wise (I can't think of any builds that involve getting four early zealots just for pressure other than some variant of that old 4gate +1 timing that went out of style a long time ago) Just get 10-12 lings, a spine if you are really worried, and micro your queen/lings so the zealots are constantly chasing stuff.

Easiest way to deal with it is to stop him from getting proxy pylons up. I make a pair of lings when my pool pops. One goes to the front of his base to watch for exiting probes and the other I send around the map looking for his initial scout + early pylons. Once speed finishes (if you open gas, which I assume you are judging by what you're describing), it's so easy to deny probes. If he walks 4 zealots all the way from his base and you didn't see them, then you're pretty bad tbh. Protoss concedes all map control for the early game when they open FFE or nexus first, so there is no reason you should allow him to get proxy pylons up.

I will preface this post by saying that my boy FishtermerService has been playing pretty well lately and got promoted to Platinum. Congratulations!

That said, the world needs to see this TvT game. You will laugh, you will cry, and then you'll laugh and cry at the same time. It is long, and it is amazing. There will be battlecruisers, there will be nukes, there will be planetaries everywhere, there will be swings of 100 supply.

You don't think 6-8 lings plus a queen can handle 4 lots? EZ, especially on creep.

Terran's are EZ wins, except when they speed boost drop. That **** is infuriating.
