I never go to TL, but I know they are the ****ing worst. Only other forum I'm a member of is XDA, and they have their users in line, not TL warn/ban for no reason, but people don't ever troll.

unranked is a completely separate MMR from your ranked play, but it uses your ranked MMR to set a benchmark when you first start

you also can play people who are playing ranked matches when you are playing unranked, at least that's how it worked as of a month ago or so. perhaps that's just for the beta i dunno.

Latest case of LOLStephano:

He's scheduled to play IEM in Germany on March 7th. For that reason, he says he won't be able to play his GSL U&D match on the morning of March 4th in Korea because he'll already be flying to IEM.

Then Proleague lineups are released; EG-TL plays the evening of March 4th, and Stephano is listed as playing. It is not yet known if he's going to play or if they'll have to forfeit that game.

Oh and Yonghwa is also in Stephano's U&D group, is also playing IEM (on March 5th, two days before Stephano), and is still going to play both.

Is battle.net running slow today or is it just me? I was playing Starcraft just fine yesterday. But today, the game is stuttering. Like every second or so, it'll pause for a tenth of a second. Really annoying.

At first, I thought it was my computer, so I reset the computer. Still doing it. So I thought it was battle.net, so I tried a game vs the computer. Still doing the stuttering. The game is basically unplayable like this.

Did you just download a big patch? Make sure the downloader is done when you boot up the launcher, go to info->connection in the menu.

It's working fine now. I guess it was downloading something.

Because I was assuming the Internet was the problem, I spent some time playing the AI. Noticed the AI is different from before. At first, I thought it was better, but I think it's just different. Used to be that the AI would go for a decent sized push at about 7-8 minutes. But I had figured out that all you need to do is put a few spines at the natural and you can hold it off every time. It got boring, so I stopped playing the computer months ago.

The computer is more varied now. Seems like the default is a fast expand. So when I tried my old two base with spines, I got run over. But since they expand, all I need to do is get a quick 3rd and I quickly have a better economy than they do. So I guess I probably won't be playing against the computer much anymore. But I still thought it was interesting.

Also, serious LOL at the APM figures since the new patch. They are saying I'm over 200 APM when I don't think I was regularly 100 APM under the 1.5 patch.

Unranked confirms matches you up with people playing ranked. Laddering my smurf I was matched up with a ****ing masters player who said in chat he was playing unranked. Soooooo ******ed.

(and I won, bc he was trolling and playing badly)

This really pisses me off. The percentage of cheese/troll builds is much higher now, and afterwards, it's almost always an unranked person. At least, I think it's unbanked when it doesn't show their league in the post game, but shows their league when you click on their name for details.

I really think unranked should only play unranked.

My smurf just got promoted to plat, guess it's time to buy a new smurf and start from bronze again?

It's kinda funny though, getting to plat on my main was kind of a grind. On my smurf I ****ed around for a really long time and even now am kinda experimenting with new stuff while generally playing under the influence of alcohol, and I got plat pretty damn easily. Maybe there's a diamond player somewhere inside me yet!

You guys, I just played my first platinum-level ZvT and DESTROYED my opponent. He went CC first (aww, that's cute), I went double hatch before pool, he tried marine pressure, I easily deflected with lings, he tried a marine/marauder/medivac attack, I easily deflected with lings + banelings and took a 4th, he tried a bigger attack, I easily deflected it with lings (didn't even need the banes), he tried to doom drop my main, I saw it coming and had lings ready as he started dropping and fungaled his medivacs to death causing a ragequit.

I might be kind of decent at this game!

why would you do this? Seems like an awful lot of money you're spending when you could just....lose a ton of games in a row doing crazy **** or outright quitting?
