Watching casted games, it never ceases to amaze me how huge of a range scan has compared to the graphic that shows:

Like, what? He can see that tumor in the bottom right that's approx half the map away from the scan location??? I'm starting to appreciate the scan outline in HotS more.

There's def not a raven and I'm pretty sure there's no other scan. Check it out, game 2 of the loser's match in last night's GSL group, at 9:15 in the VOD (13:20 on the game timer).

did my first "ladder session" in months and months tonight playing hots

went 11-4, got promoted to diamond (diamond players in hots pretty tough... started losing lol) and had these 2 insane base trades

I tried hatching at their natural way back when nexus first became standard pvz. I was told it was not optimal and didn't win with it much. Not that the latter statement means a lot.

ive barely been paying attention, but it's safe to say zvt is seen as pretty imbalanced in hots, right?

i remember dustin browder talking about how terran has so many "tools" and unique different units and ways to harass in wol...

so in hots they gave them more. the amount of **** you have to worry about with terran is insane... all while nerfing the infestor and giving zerg units which are absolutely worthless in zvt outside of vipers vs. mech

my diamond level thinking is back:

villain has done something incredibly stupid. we have a 100% lock free win if we just play standard.

our options

1. macro like normal and crush him in the mid-late game
2. do a mid-early game timing to exploit his defensive weakness
3. build a hatchery in his natural, not macro at all, build random things and then do risky stupid stuff

summary of how the match-ups go for me now:

1. zvp ezezezezezez so ez still
2. zvz cheese or die
3. zvt i should just gg and save my time

lots of toss going for 3 base late game big air play it seems, which apparently dies pretty easily to a strong +2 roach/hydra timing

I've been trying to practice against FFE on my smurf to see how hatch blocking Protoss works over a decent sample, but apparently my MMR is too buried in bronze league to actually get a game against someone decent
