Lol, it wasn't even meant to be a humble brag. I was legit really really sad. Even now I'm planning on playing a bunch today cause I want those skills back!

I'm at Quad Capital in a trader training program. Interesting and exciting every day, but sure is stressful!

Apparently Quantic has reformed as a merger of It's Gosu and 4Not, while adding a couple former TSL guys (Hyun, Center) and HwangSin.

Eifersuchtig, are you part of Quantic now?

Sup guys, let's talk about trolling.

So, I was playing on KR tonight with a margarita by my side against a Protoss. He had the nerve to try blocking MY SPAWNING POOL of all things; so, in a moment of brilliance, I said "TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME, SIR!"

Hatch-blocking a Protoss' natural has to mess up their build pretty good, right? Why not! As it neared completion, I thought about canceling, but...is getting 225 minerals really all that important when, as narwhal knows, I'm the king of building up a 4k bank by 13:00? Of course not! FINISH, HATCHERY, AND SPREADEST THOU CREEP THROUGHOUT HIS BASE

Not until 6:00 was he able to kill off the hatch; meanwhile, my timings were delayed by...30 seconds or so? Pretty good trade, imo. And then also consider...

It took over a minute for the creep to dissipate, lawl!

When our armies finally met on the battlefield:

This did not go well for him; supplies at this point are 158 to 89.

THE END

But anyway, I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this - is hatch-blocking a good/ok/awful idea? What's the correct play for Toss to react? If he's already put down his forge, I feel like Zerg is pretty flexible, in that...
a.) if Toss cancels forge to go gateway, you cancel the hatch, now they have no cannon and you can rush 6 lings off your 14pool maybe?
b.) if the forge stays and they switch to one base play, you made them delay their gate and waste money on a forge for some ****ty 1 base all in that you'll probably hold with flying colors
c.) if they try to stick to 2 base play they're SOOOOO behind

If you're actually doing that, get a queen and put down a creep tumor. They can't expand until they have a robo.

Hatch blocking is a bitch. I agree, queens make it even better

It's very close because the map, the timing of their forge, and the timing of your pool all factor in.

It's unfortunate but you pretty much have to put a cannon down in range of the hatch. Depending on how quick you see it, you may have to pull a few probes. Letting it finish is not ok and the zerg should leave it up at least long enough to force the cannon to finish.

If this happened to me, I would probably try very hard to deny expansions with pylons/cannons. Investing 300 + 50 minerals into a hatch that won't finish is not the best decision and you can also probably just macro behind it and play safe.

I played one custom 2v2 game of SC2 WoL last night, my first "real" game in months, I'm prolly mid gold league... which is massively embarrassing. It's crazy how much one loses if they don't stay sharp in this game.

I have never tried it, but if done correctly I think it should hurt him more than you so its good. Doing the hatch cancel into evo block might work too.

Also 10 pooling vs P is something I have just started to do, its really really strong because they hardly ever come out ahead unless something went wrong on your part or their probe micro is awesome. Often you just insta win. This only really works vs FFE but thats 90% of builds. Competent P's will probably own it and its tough if they do something funky like a gateway expand.
