the new thor anti-air ability is ridic. muta support w/ roach/bane isnt even an option. bls just die too

battle hellion so strong vs hydra i'd assume, but ill try it next time. i had vipers but they didnt seem to have much purpose.

big prob with muta vs thor now is that thors are smaller (at least they appear that way to me) and more can get under magic boxed mutas now

It's funny how mad people get when I beat them without even using infestors. I guess zerglings, banelings, roaches, hydras, mutas, and corruptors are all broken too.

I thought they made Thors bigger in the latest patch.

Don't battle hellions have limited range? Shouldn't roaches be able to push them back while you keep your hydras out of range as they rain death upon everything?

Vipers = abduct Thors into your army ball (or under your BLs, no more sniping at 10 range?) maybe to whittle them down first?

(take all of this in the proper context, of course: I've played exactly 1 game of HotS, it was weeks ago, and in it my opponent raged that I went MMM and didn't build any new units)

go roach/hydra/viper vs thor/hellion. battle hellions are way too slow to even get in range of hydras. Use blinding cloud and go hydra heavy. Thats the only success ive been able to have vs mech in the beta. I'd much rather see mech though because bio play is now imba seeing as how they buffed medivacs too much and nerfed our main counter into uselessness

Why do people think infestors counter drops lol? Drop play is actually a soft counter to infestor play.

You could go terran, kill off most of your scvs, load the rest into the command center, fly it to the corner of the map and then wait for your opponent to leave.

Hm ill try this next time. Maybe I'm just so averse to the thought of hydra use in zvt lol.

ZvZ I usually do one base speedling + baneling or the good old one base roach speed +1 all in. It still amazes me that this regularly beats master zergs.

ZvP I like to do a fast 2 hatch roach rush with slow ling reinforce. There is also a variant where you get speed and cancel your natural hatch. I 7 pool every ZvP on Antiga and occasionally on other maps. On Antiga and other 4 player maps you get a lot of easy wins if they scout you last. If they do scout early I only make 3 sets of lings then drone and expand. On Antiga I like to take the gold base as my first or second expansion. In addition to more efficient mining, having the gold base makes it easier to push creep and spines to the toss base. The toss will almost always try to kill the gold base if they scout it. On other maps I usually follow up a 7 pool with 3 base mass roach ling.

ZvT I go for very fast 2 base mutas. This is a meta game build to counter terran's fast expand into hellion banshee, although you can still do some damage then transition against other terran openings. I start my lair as soon as my first queen finishes.

10 ZvZs so far today, 9 10pools and a speedling AI. Mid diamond players real try hard.

mass mech in hots is insane

i cant find a solution other than kill them beforehand. thors are so ****ing unbelievably good now, which is amazing since they were unbelievably good before.

w/ the infestor nerf, thor anti-air buff and raven buff BLs are like LOLOL. trying to fungal vikings is really cute now.

and swarm hosts suck. just lost a game cause i decided to make them vs a huge siege tank army. LOLocusts.

Oh god, the zerg tears return in HotS. I'm so happy.

Also as an aside, I would argue that Zergs on a whole are the winiest race in SC.

I have played about 20 games of HotS so far. I believe my opponent has said gg exactly once. And I am not 1-19.

Good for them, I weep for the weaklings on ladder that congratulate their opponents in defeat on a job well done instead of raging at them with the fire of a thousand suns and telling them all the reasons why they're too terrible to ever make diamond league.

lol I never gg now. I tried it a couple times but it just isn't my style.
