The only kind of ZvT I know how to win: long, drawn-out, and ugly as ****

Someone make a Proleague thread, preferably with details about where we watch it, because I don't know.

Week 1 matchups + team rosters: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=386433

Which of these guys are big stars from BW? Flash/Jaedong obviously, Bisu/Fantasy/Jangbi/Stork also sound familiar, is that about right?

That break with D3 and Borderlands 2 completely reset my progress.

According to your definition, playing LoL is like playing Protoss.

I don't know why more 2p2ers don't play Dota 2. EDIT: And I don't mean that in any way of being a fanboy. I don't even play it myself, although I have the game. I just always found Dota to be more challenging and more strategical than LoL. I don't really know why people (LoLDestiney) choose LoL over Dota. Not going to start an argument...just something I always wonder.

Simply put: LoL is bigger than SC2 and DOTA combined. There is more money in LoL, the end.

Well, I'm never gonna be a pro gamer so it's all the same to me.

I played a little LoL and a little Dota and liked Dota a bit better (high ground vision ftw)...but, SC2 still wins out for me, in large part because I don't find MOBA games very accessible at all. I've played like 25 games of Dota 2 now, each of which take about 4x as long as your typical SC2 game, and I still have nfi what most people in the Dota 2 thread are talking about when they discuss various heroes, items, strategies, etc. I think SC2 is something you can pick up much more quickly in terms of getting what's going on and being able to watch pro matches and understand what they're doing, even if it takes a long time to master the playing of the game; in Dota, it feels like I have to invest hundreds of hours just to reach the same level of comprehension I had when I was a new bronze player in SC2.

i've played both and strongly prefer dota. they both have their pros and cons.

it does surprise me that people going from sc2 to dota-type games go straight to LoL though. i guess it's a function of not having to get an invite and more people they know playing it.

the simple fact that you can play all the characters immediately when you play dota seems like good enough reason to go with dota, but maybe people can't handle that amount of freedom.

edit: the dota 2 thread is a terrible place to go for beginners imo. seems to be pretty much only people who have played dota/dota 2 for years discussing nuances of patch 6.2.2.1.9.3.8.2.3.8.0001 or debating the strongest solomid, chinese player.

Ha! Maybe that's true. But like, I constantly find myself playing against a hero I haven't played before and he does something to me that causes me to die instantly and I'm like "oh, cool story, didn't know that could happen." I guess it's like the equivalent of the first time you face an immortal-sentry rush with a roach army and you're like "oh, I guess force fields are kinda good" while you helplessly throw your hands up in the air and type gg, except it happens ALL THE TIME because there's 96 different heroes or whatever in the game (and literally a billion items).

yeah, i guess that's another reason LoL seems less overwhelming. you generally only face a rotation of like 10-15 different heroes in a given week. i'd say i'm just about comfortable knowing basically what each 95% of the heroes in dota do, but it's taken me over 200 games combined with watching maybe 25-30 high-level streamed games.

Don't they have a partnership with MLG? Why not sell MLG the rights to do official english broadcasting? Seems like ridiculously +ev.

random thought- does it annoy anyone else when casters (khaldor in particular) say that zergs are going for 14 pools against protoss when they are actually going for 15 pools
