Starcraft 2 (GAME IS NOW FREE!) - Page 550 - Video Games

So I've decided that 10 pooling ZvZ is basically the optimal build on ladder (assuming all you care about is winning). Virtually everyone either hatch firsts or 6-8 pools, both of which are pretty well countered by a 10 pool. All the builds that do really well vs 10 pooling (gas-->pool, pool-->hatch) are basically never seen in the ZvZs that I play.

Thoughts?

I see way more pool-hatch builds than hatch first and very few 10pools. Good for me because I hatch first

Really not having much fun playing this game these days, feels like I've hit a wall and I'm just not getting better anymore :/

2 of those wins were people quitting on me, 1 was 7pool spine rush, most losses were ZvT where I just wasn't even close to winning

Playing exclusively zerg to try to improve zvt, have now dropped to ~30ish in gold league and my MMR has me playing silver leaguers :/

Comments appreciated, I feel like I'm just really bad at 1. managing zerg armies 2. having a plan b when my army dies, in terms of being able to rebuild or whatever - like, once I run out of lings, he just runs over my hatch, my tech, and there's nothing I can do to stop it.

Looking at that replay I actually have no idea why I thought I was playing well, my macro is pretty awful. So I guess you can add "having no clue where I'm standing in the game" to my list of problems.

I think one thing that hurts my ZvT is not really knowing what my army should look like at x or y or z point of the game. Like, ZvP it's pretty easy - 1. maek drone 2. maek roach 3. max somewhere between 12-14 minutes (I'm not stephano!). ZvT...I have nfi what my army is supposed to look like at various points in time, how I transition from ling/baneling into infestors and ultimately corruptor-BL while holding off marine-tank pressure, etc.

yeah it's terrible because terran have this unit that can take away the energy of a buncha infestors whereas all toss have is a unit that for every point of infestor energy they drain they also kill one HP. which would be useful if infestor's max energy was > max health.

Looking forward to HoTS, but it'll suck not having a lot of time to play and being tired the times I can play.

My APM will drop to nothing, my macro is going to be garbage and my decision making won't be better than a 3-year-old's.

Should still be high masters if I switch to Toss though, right?

Lol, sentry all-ins just got even more broken.

Also, not sure if it's a bug or not, but I couldn't spawn ITs while burrowed either.
