If I were ever to get super serious, the first thing I would do is take the marine and practice microing it until I was ridiculous. That has to be like the best time to winrate improvement you could ever do.
Then, I'd change name to Marine King Jr.

anyone using a 30" on all ultra? if so what kinda stuff u got pushing pixels?

i upgraded from 1900x1200 to a 30 and i dont think my current 5850 will be able to handle it.. it already kinda lags 1900x1200 in like big 3v3 battles n such...

Marine splitting is pretty satisfying when you do it properly, but it's not necessary 100% of the time since zergs will mis-micro their banelings and run into tanks/thors/marauders a fair portion of the time as well.

yeah almost always with friends...i don't think that i have any random placement done thinking about it now. i'm fortunate that most of my friends are pretty competent

I mean that's not like a ton of games or anything, but to play that many games with friends is a lot, at least to me lol. I wish I had friends that were good. I'm easily the best out of the like 5 people I know irl that play sc2, which is sad.

What would the SC2 "super bowl" be? The most prestigious final victory. Doesn't seem like it'd be GSL since it's so often, but it certainly gains respect. I'd imagine it would be in Korea. Or maybe it is GSL and a ton of super bowls every year?

yeah, i still havent gotten my diamond 4v4 either. (i do placement with friends though, not random). frustrating...

I play with 2 friends and we search 4s so we get a random ally - it counts towards Random 4v4. People that play random 4v4 are just the worst players ever...

Stuff I've won with includes mass queen / spine crawlers, planetary fortress rush, mass phoenix, carriers / mothership, 100% mass marine out of 8 reactor'ed barracks, mass banelings, etc.

What is your sample size in 4v4 DM ?
I play full random 4v4s and nowadays I see very good players.

Will try your method - I thought you'll get ranked as a fixed team because in 3v3 if you go in with a teammate you are counted as a team..

Not sure of my exact record, its something like 85-40 or so for 4v4 random team. Alot of those losses are from trying things like Planetary Rushing (really funny to try on the map where all 4 players share 1 base), lifting off and taking gold minerals directly, etc.

4v4 RT is just often full of players that mass up in their base but don't do anything constructive.

I've ran into some very good players at high levels of 2v2 RT, but not in 4v4.

You have to be the armchair general in 4v4 RT and command your mates to the win

I just realized after my 500th game that I can use mic ingame, however I trolled my teammates with the good ol' rick astley song but we still could win.

Lol I bet Idra gets 5 customers lifetime at that price. It isn't like poker where the players already have a lot of disposable income or they are already very good at poker and stand to earn back the 300/hr spent on a lesson easily.

Also, does anyone notice a clear homoerotic vibe in the TL.net community (mostly when your average member is talking about pros)? Obviously they aren't all gay I just find it interesting that it has become cool in their community to be so overtly sexual/emotional when talking about their reverence for the pros/casters.

This sort of facetious homosexuality has become more common in society in general I think.

i started playing 4v4s random teams like 3-4days ago, have like 25:18 W/L and got into diamond really fast

speaking of TL, it tilts me so much when every thread has someone claiming a strategy has a 90% winrate when they clearly just pulled that number out of their ass. i doubt any of the 90% winraters can explain why they are still at ~50% winrate

Yea most of their threads in the strategy and general starcraft forums are unreadable because people just spam their biased views without having any even attempting any sort of intelligent discussion. There is definitely a lot of good info in their forums you just have to sift through tons of ******ed posts to find it. They should give the option to filter posts based on whether they are an administrator/pro/mod/caster/or have 2k+ posts so that it is easier to skip over QQing platinum players.

As it is I find the 2p2 SC forums sooo much more helpful than the TL forums. Thank you to the people here that are patient enough to read through TL threads and bring the good information back here.
