btw karak, "focus on macro" is really not helping my ZvT. General "work on your macro" advice does not explain one matchup in particular being significantly worse than all my others.

Did you even read my post?

If my zerg macro, on a scale of 1-10 is a 5, and that's good enough for me to win ZvZs and ZvPs but not ZvTs, then I could increase my macro to a 7 (which I'm working on anyway, obviously, as I'm always going to be improving as a player), or even a 10, and improve in all matchups, but that won't change the fact that my ZvT is significantly worse than all my other matchups.

Just had a game where I scouted 1rax FE so I went quickly to 3 bases, got up to 64 drones (should prob have gone slightly higher), hit my injects really well (at 9:20, my queens had 4/4/13 energy after injecting, last one was only so high cause I built it at my main and walked it to my 3rd), started massing lings while teching up.

I lost the game by 15:00 and it wasn't even close.

Are you serious? It's terrific that you're accusing me of "blaming balance" when if anything I'm usually complaining Zerg is OP against Terran and I'm readily admitting (as I always have) that my ZvT is terrible. I suck at creating good unit compositions, I suck at making tech transitions, I suck at controlling specialized units like banelings/infestors well, and you're accusing me of "blaming balance"? Seriously, go find one post where I imply that Terran is OP against Zerg.

I'm not that familiar with the game anymore but when I used to play, around the 930 mark is when I expected to see mutas arrive at my base in ZvT. So you might be getting your gas too early (leading to too much gas early and not enough minerals and slower drone production) or you are starting your tech too late and floating too many resources. Basically I think you should be starting to mass your Tier 2 tech unit of choice (mutas or infestors) around 930, and mineral dumping into lings.

Well, you apparently already know why your ZvT sucks, since you just listed off a bunch of reasons why. If you think it's not macro, then post a replay and show us. It's not like "work on your macro" became the generic response to non-Masters players problems by chance or accident. It's because that actually is the problem almost always.

Fwiw though, increasing your macro from a 5 to a 7 will actually improve your win percentage (though maybe not your understanding admittedly) in ZvT. Having way more **** than your opponent can physically handle will always win you games, no matter what matchup it is. That's still how I win the vast majority of my games.

And sorry for not providing a replay, it seemed everyone had already made up their mind about why my ZvT is bad and didn't need to see any examples. I know why I lost the game above, I gave away 50 lings in a bad engagement and then lost 24 drones to blue flame hellions because I didn't have enough of an army to kill them anymore (here's the replay if you want to watch), but my point is that the things I struggle with in ZvT that don't happen in other matchups are not related to macro.

I never said that, but I never meant to accuse you of blaming balance, sry. As for unit composition, I consider that part of macro. Engagements and such I consider just decision making.
