EGSuppy had to make a new acct sine he joined EG, so now hes in diamond, but hes playing and beating top GM players, yet still in diamond. lol

also, wasnt the way they do the points and ranking supposed to change? its still u vs 100 random people right? cuz i lose 10 points, drop 5 spaces against the random 100? nothing changed?

Just had my first non cheese win vs. a diamond. I couldn't have handled his drop harass any worse, almost feel bad that I still won.

Your main problem in that game was that you didn't realize what he was doing soon enough. If you had known what he was up to he was up you probably could have killed him very easily with a bunch of roaches. You saw the timing of his gateway, this was a big clue that he was doing something very strange.

Corruptors and well controlled infestors should almost hard counter mass air when he doesn't have storm and a lot of archons. The problem this game was that he had a big economy lead.

The only thing that changed was that divisions no longer have invisible tiers within the same league. Blizz said that was because you could be at the top of your division and appear close to promotion, but really not be because you're in a low-tier division. They just got rid of that, so all divisions are "equal" now and being at the top of your division actually means something w.r.t promotion potential.

Lol you just got funday Monday'd. This week's was 3 base before gas as protoss/terran.

I was gonna say "deny his 3rd as long as possible", but then I saw the game lol. In general though, I think that's key against skytoss. At MLG Raleigh, I actually played a match against a diamond toss who went skytoss as standard. First game, I won with mutas into ling/corruptor/infestor because I managed to deny his 3rd for a long time with the mutas. Second game was much harder (and subsequently, I lost) because I failed to do that. Third game I just roach/ling AI'd because I didn't want to deal with it again lol.

If they skimp on cannons, multi-pronged attacks work very well too. Kinda like playing vs mech in ZvT, skytoss isn't actually that quick despite flying. That amount of cannons is actually normal though, I was told. My opponent did that and said that you float a lot of minerals doing that style, so just build cannons.

You should have focused on missile upgrades too IMO once you realized it was skytoss. Lings aren't going to be useful at all because they only thing they can do is counterattack, but that won't work at all vs the cannon numbers he has. But at least you can help out the ITs by upgrading them.

Protoss experts: since I lose 100% of 4gates PvT when my opponent just plays off 1 base (and isn't ******ed, as they'll usually scout it and bunker up), is it feasible to just try to set up a contain in his natural and then expand and outpace him in economy? Presumably if he's building 3 rax or going for banshees or something on 1 base, his economy isn't in the greatest shape either...

Economy difference doesn't matter when T has MULEs and their units are ridiculously more cost efficient than unupgraded gateway units. Expanding is your best alternative, but not much is good when your 4 gate does no damage.

And then I lose like a moron when they sit back and warp in three more rounds of units AT THE EDGE OF MY VISION and I forget to pull SCVs and their stupid gateway army takes down all three bunkers

Someone just 3 pylon blocked me for the first time PvZ. I withdrew to the high gound, but compounding the problem he somehow got probes inside my main? Not quite sure how since he walled off completely and all, and built a ton of cannons. Anyway he justified it by saying that "I cheese by playing random" and "that was an awfully early pool you had" (it was a 14 pool LOL). So I guess that shows the level of intelligence among people that do those kinds of builds.

That's the problem, while facing a 4gate, you must mass units. A 4gating protoss won't have any kind of tech for a long time and you must capitalize on your defender's advantage. Anyway, once he fails his 4gate without doing any damage, he should just gg and leave the game. Don't forget to bring-in scvs though

PvT, I 4gate on Condemned, he doesn't have much of an army and I roll through his base (he lifts everything and takes off) and then I discover it's because his army was out on the map and is now hitting my base. He kills most of my workers (all buildings still intact) but I get back and take out his army, he says gg, I say gg back, aaaaand then he doesn't leave the game and moves his base to the opposite corner and drags it out for 20 minutes bunkered up with marauders. I think he actually thought he had a chance of winning? What a douche.

learn to do something other than 4gate?

I've tried, it doesn't usually go well
