Oh man, so I just got a TvP on Condemned and thought it would be a good time to try a real banshee build (inspired by Polt in his 1st round WCS Korea match against MVP) for the first time. Walled off just in time to keep the toss from scouting my gas first, and luckily for me it was horizontal spawns so I had ez access to his base. He forge fast expanded (lol random!) so I knew he prob didn't have any cannons in his main. I get there with my first banshee right as cloak finishes at 7:30 and kill 9 probes right away before he pulls back to his nat. Figuring he prob has some units + at least the 1 cannon I know about, I stay in his main - turns out lol me because his entire army was 40 - 9 = 31 probes + 1 zealot (LOL) and he still only had the 1 cannon at the front of his nat; I could have destroyed every probe and won the game right there with 2 banshees. Instead, I took out his robo, unpowered every gateway, took out a few photon cannons in progress (he didn't cancel), and wound up with 25 kills between my banshees.

I then learned that it's important to keep building **** at home and fapping to the damage your banshees are doing is irresponsible, because he did have a lot of gates up and once my banshees had to come back home I was like "oh, it's probably bad that I have 1 rax at 12:00 and still haven't moved my second CC to my natural." (don't worry, I didn't lose!) But man, it was fun to just completely destroy someone at the start of the game like that.

i played a funny zvt on antiga.
he never took his natural and his front rax had like 2 marines and no addon. couldnt really scout much but was pretty clear it was banshees or something. prllly shoulda sacked an overlord at some point

anyways, i made spores, and like a bajillion queens from my 3 hatches.
held off his 3 starport 9 banshee push with like 8 queens and rebuilding them constantly. he then moved out with some marines and hellions, so i left like 10 lings around the corner to counter and held off his push. was funny

its pretty funny to see how sometimes ppl will use solid builds that are recognizable, like FFE. or 1rax FE, and some people will come up with completely random crap that just isnt in the metagame at all.

kinda the equivalent of clicking buttons in poker. zomg i have a pair, i raise! idk makes sense to me lol

some people get bored with the same unit comps and build orders, and look for different ideas to make the game interesting.

This is the only way I play (sc, not poker). I don't know any builds beyond like 20 supply. I'm way too lazy to learn/practice any real builds and this way's fun for me, even though theres like no way I ever get out of gold.

me too kinda, except i have a general game plan and unit comp plan, but not an exact build order.

i mean as zerg there's really no set builds after 20 supply because the race is so reactive

unless you're doing a very specific all-in, which i personally dont do very often

I don't even know how to do that lol. Seriously, goofy could probably beat me in a ZvZ. The matchup makes zero sense at all to me. No matter what I do or what my opponent does, I just lose.

Going by my ZvZs against other 2+2 members, I am plat level in that matchup

Just got 4gated in a pretty unconventional way - instead of a ~6:00 warp-in at my front (I had 2 bunkers ready), he added a robo and sent a warp prism into my main with 3 zealots and a sentry at 7:30 and FFed my ramp so I couldn't take my army back in. wtf do I do against that?
