So, I just played a Random vs Random that wound up being PvP. Scouted after putting my gate down and my opponent was going...Nexus first? wtf, is that actually something people do?

Obv I 4gated him, got my first warp-in at 6:20 which is slightly late but he had an lol army of 3 zealots at that point, so it wasn't even close.

He gets like a 7 minute core but somehow still has a decent winrate. I think he can hold 4 gate pretty well but insta loses to 3 gate blink.

- Lose a PvZ because I am completely and utterly clueless at how to play Toss...I forgot about that whole forge fast expand thing so I wound up having to 1base cause I couldn't break out against his zergling (followed by roach) pressure, lol me, that didn't go well at all
- Lose a ZvT because again I have nfi what my late game composition is supposed to be, roaches get obliterated by siege tanks, brood lords get obliterated by thors, I lose
- Win a ZvP, nothing fancy just build a lot of roaches and a-move ftw, he wasn't very good

zvt against mech you either hit a good roach timing on his army when his tank count isn't completely ridiculous yet.
If you don't do that you can do a roach doomdrop in the main and some multi pronged attacks

You simply cannot win lategame straight up against mech, dont waste money on bls or ultras and just mass roaches with good upgrades, attacking everywhere at once.

can't comment on other matchups

edit: i shouldnt say never make bls, if you notice a low thor count and an insane tank count broods is an option

I always thought the highly-touted excuse of "they just don't have the gas and they can't sacrifice starport production" was a load of bollocks since I regularly see T losing games banking 2-3k gas and I mean ONE extra starport w/techlab isn't that expensive in the long run considering the tactical advantage a raven can give you. I think the ability to shut down observers for good is ridiculously understated as well. That, and actually building lotsa barracks in the late midame(min 12)

Disclaimer: I have ~100 ladder games lifetime and haven't had SC2 installed in 6+ months

Your completely right. I'm going to start doing that soon, because there has been so many occasions, just like you said where I have had excess gas and have not known exactly what to do with it. Definitely just put the gas into a starport or 2 with ravens building..

they changed my video settings in the patch, but i changed them back to the lowest they can go. STill, it looks much better than before and my computer feels overworked.

Is there some hidden settings button that im unaware of so i can get it back to before?
