its so weird, had so much practice ZvT i just win so much more vs terran lol. played 7 games so far today, 4 vs terran and 3 vs zerg. im 0-3 for zvz and 4-0 for zvt. starcraft is such a crazy game

also, i love watching TLO stream just for his music. its like 1/2 awesome disney songs, 1/2 video game songs in violin form lol

you play completely blind which is giving you a lot of trouble

-Getting a fast third is fine but you have to scout for the zerg's third, put up two or three more bunkers if you don't see one
-scan lair tech, mutas did too much damage
-scan hive tech for the brood lord timing

your response is good but they come too late because lack of scouting

Also against bl/infestor army if you see them out on the map, hellion drive-bys (or counter attacks in general) are really good because it's a slow army, also harrassing the fourth is really effective because it's hard to defend especially on this map

also a pretty huge macro slip up during your big attack

also get double upgrades rolling, one engi and one armory just isn't enough for the mid - late game

Had some guy practically beg me for a win on ladder. First time I've seen that. So I expanded everywhere and contained him on 2 base. Then I purposely move commanded about half my army into his and he actually thought he won for a sec before my like 20 gateways replenished my army. Pretty sweet.

On that note: bar exam is over and I don't start work til Sept 5. Time to make GM or at least get to that level? Honestly my working goal for like a year now has been to get to a point where I can beat Time in 40% of games.

I used to just leave ZvZs a lot of the time at the very beginning cause I didn't feel like playing the matchup. Now I just play a strat where I win or lose before ever clicking v with a larva selected. My ladder points are doing a lot better now.

Haha, I used to do that with TvTs sometimes (except Terrans can't 6pool). I'm still surprised at how often I wind up having to play ****ing TvT when I'm playing as Random. So many Terrans out there.

I don't 6 pool bro I'm more sophisticated than that. I 7 pool and pull 3 drones and make 3 spines on their creep and then reinforce with as many lings as my 4 drones can pump out. Way sweeter than 6 pooling.

Yeah I don't enjoy TvT at all so I've been just scv-marine AI on ladder (with high success). I build 1 rax in my base and proxy another, so when they scout me they think I'm going a gasless expo build.

TvT was my highest win % on ladder before I started cheesing. I just got tired of playing 30+ minute turtle fests.

Let me let you guys in on my expert TvT strat....proxy marauder rush, throwing down my expo while Im attacking, if they fast expanded then I almost have a gtd win. If theyre being a little turtly bitch I go home with a 1 base advantage. Play std, poke once or so to see if he's continuing to be a bitch. If he is, then I get a 3rd, make 3 starports with tech labs, and start churning out dem BCs. Then I make more BCs with marine support, then I win.....


...sometimes I lose.

You should 10 pool spine rush instead. 7 pool loses to like everything

Played one game last night at 3am when I got home (first multi game in a few days), rolled Zerg against a Terran. He sends an early marauder-heavy force juuuust when I start getting roaches out around 8:20, I lose a couple queens and my spines and have to pull drones but barely hold it off. Then I start massing up roaches quickly but sadly he doesn't attack again. I spread creep out for awhile while maxing out, he never attacks again, eventually go up towards his base but get hit with siege tanks so quickly retreat.

Hmm, stalemate.

Eventually an expeditionary force of vikings appears over my creep. I have no spores (scouting? psshh) and my entire army is made up of ground-to-ground units, but this doesn't strike me as a problem until he starts taking out my overlords. Oops. I try to huddle them around my main where drones that were just chilling since my minerals ran out (expanding? who needs that?) and build a bunch of spores. I also build corruptors but I never get enough of them out at once to take out the vikings. Finally it occurs to me "wait, shouldn't I use hydras to counter air units?" so I get a bunch of those out and finally take out all his vikings.

With air supremacy now assured, I off some of my own roaches (sorry guys, the overmind demands it) and replace them with corruptors, then brood lords. I march on his siege line, launch some broodlings at the marines in front, and cackle with glee as his tanks begin to fire on his own troops. He sends some vikings out but my BLs are in a place that my hydras can't reach so I retreat. He comes onto my creep and sets up a siege line; I leave my roach/hydra army just out of siege range and start firing at his marines again and cackle with glee again as his tanks fire on his own troops. Finally he unsieges, at which point I march in with roaches and hydras and decimate his army. He snap-leaves before I get to march on his bases.

This was like a 35 minute game. Not the pinnacle of SC2 prowess on display there...
