People who are doing it to practice the 3 races want to play games as normally as possible, so telling the opponent makes sure it's a fairly standard game, ffe in ZvP being the most obvious example.

Yeah, this is basically why I do it. I play less to win in any stupid way possible and more to live out my fantasy of playing as DRG vs MC. If i'm facing a 3gate expand into proxied 2 stargate void ray all ins, it sort of ruins the idea that I'm playing the same game as they are (even though we're not for many other reasons).

I always do stupid cheese against random (usually 4 gate, unless I can switch to a better one base all in after scouting). If the Random player wants to actually learn how to play all 3 races he should be race picking.

I just played a toss that blindly made a forge and cannon in his main to counter the 7 pool I was doing. Then when he tried to do a 1 base 3 gate + voidray attack he sent his units to my natural without ever scouting my spawn location. I held his attack and eventually won after he made DTs and tried to hide a nexus.

Of course at the end of the game he told me how terrible I am and that zerg is overpowered.

Watched the replay, and although the 10 forge is funny business, you saying he blindly attacked into your natural is actually a little bit of a lie. Your lings were running there from his units, then he A moved there, so he had some form of clue as to where you are from your retreat. It's also tough to tell, since if he hacked, he didn't look into fog of war (Or have his camera lock somewhere) at suspicious times. Also, he was able to look into fog of war so he obv doesn't have the type of hack Spades was using.

I would say it's slightly suspicious, but nowhere near substantial. Once Bnet comes back up and I'm home, I'll examine his match history to see if he does that 10 forge vs. zerg often at all.

I agree that we can't be absolutely certain he was cheating.

The build makes no sense, either the guy is terrible or he knew I was 7 pooling. The forge wasn't for cannon rushing, he didn't get +1 in time for his attack and making a cannon on 1 base for defense isn't something I have seen since I got promoted out of bronze.

I guess its possible that I 7 pooled this guy before on ladder and he remembered, I'm pretty sure I didn't play him recently tho. Or maybe he had lost to early pools in his previous few ladder games and decided that no matter what he would not lose to a 6 pool this game. Or maybe it was lower league player playing on a friend's account.
