After about 10 tries, I finally beat the Insane AI in TvT using the Thorzain build. The hardest part is holding the early pressure since the AI 11/12/15 rax's. I definitely was too slow with a lot of the middle part of the build, but I feel like I'm actually improving! Gonna go through all 9 matchups this way.

Don't think I've ever beaten an insane AI 1v1 before, not that I've played a ton of games against it.

Not sure I understand what you're comparing it to. 5 months of skill atrophy in what?

Is there some achievement for beating the insane AI in all matchups? Yesterday I played the insane AI straight up in PvZ and FFEd but still won. The computer just makes roach hydra ling for a good part of the game, and I just kept expoing and defending.

ZvP, out macro your opponent completely - lose to bull**** timing attack because protoss ground armies are bull****.

ZvT outmacro them until lategame, lose when they turtle behind PFs and perma drop you with 4 actions/drop to drop 4 places at the same time, because it takes SO MUCH SKILL.

ZvZ make a pool, micro a lot. do stuff.

i just lost to a terran because i could not handle 2 simple drops which is all i had to do. he had 8 scvs left. i had 45 drones, but i just plugged along not even noticing my 3rd dying

altho i did just have a T in my base with 2 cloaked banshees when all i had was 2 queens and hadnt even started an evo chamber or lair and won that game

so that was cool

edit - did you know the front ramp of khoral can be completely walled off out of vision range of the overlord over the hatch but in range of reapers!?!? another great feature of the map! so balance!

Thats what happens to everyone when they get famous.

Every time I try to watch day9's show it just ends up being him telling stupid stories and having his goofy face pop up on screen every 5 seconds if he does happen to be analyzing a game.

It is probably easier for him to plan each episode with a lot of "day9 being a silly nerd" content rather than pure starcraft content. Pure starcraft analytical content probably takes forever to plan for a 2-3 hour show.

husky hasn't changed since he blew up.

I know a lot of people just don't like him but regardless of your personal feelings about him, you have to admit he's stayed true to who he is.

I actually went from loving him to disliking him and am back to liking him, at least when compared to some of the other trash (Rob Simpson, Moletrap, HD) that major tournaments throw out there.

Husky has changed a lot, actually, but unlike Day9, he's changed for the better IMO. I really disliked Husky, then once he realized he should stop trying to analyze the game in duo casts, I started to like him. That, and he was hilarious at PAX East last year when him/Day9/Inc/JP cast the finals of the BYOC and a TL in-house showmatch series. I have no idea what he's like in solo casts though, since I don't think I've ever seen one.

Honestly, I think doing that one thing (know your role and stay in it) probably makes the biggest difference in someone's casting. All the best casters right now are the best because they recognize what role they fill and don't really stray from it. All the ****ty ones try to do both, and subsequently fail at the analysis portion, which really ruins the casting for a lot of people.

Also, Day9 has said before that doing the dailies is actually like a 40hr/week job, so yeah, it takes a lot of time.

just played the longest game i've ever played. it was a pvz on metrapolis...neither of us engaged each other at all...we sat around for the first like 30 minutes of the game. i GUESS he tried doing some muta harass (which did zero damage) and i guess i did some warp prism shennanigans...but yeah...what a joke. just sat there forever and had like 10k/7k in the bank.

i told him i'd flip a coin and for him to call it. if he got it right, i'd just auto leave the game (with no action at all lol). he never responded. eventually got 3/3/3 carriers and voidrays w. a mama ship along with some stalkers. LOL zerg unit efficiency...he lost all of his stuff and i killed his tech, pretty much ending the game.
