He hasn't been streaming as much as earlier. Also he just switched to own3d and theres probably a pretty big lag with new people onto that site. But I think he will be alright He has a huge solid fanbase still.

Look at the graph (it's partially covered by his webcam) but you can see there's a day where he made $600. Obviously not consistent, but that screenshot was taken at like 2am. The "today" was 2 hours of streaming with about 7k-10k cuz he was blackout drunk and hitting on Mia Rose on camera.

Ah yeah, I didn't even notice the graph. Seems to show him making about 200-300 a day on average. Pretty damn good for playing video games from your house.

I think there is definitely a gold rush aspect to all of these new streamers/casters/progamers. Over time those with the best organizational and networking skills are going to to get enormously popular while everyone else will either fade away or get by on scraps.

Idra, incontrol, day9, artosis, tasteless are eons ahead of everyone else but there are some examples of people who have worked really hard to get themselves into the scene. For example, Mr. Bitter came to into the scene as a mediocre player with a small fan base and was able to work his way into becoming a go-to caster for big tournaments. Totalbiscuit is a godawful caster & even worse sc2 player but somehow he has also positioned himself as a go-to community figure. Same can be said for husky and probably some others I am not thinking of.

Karak is right. The window for destiny to take advantage of his popularity is closing. His fan base seems pretty niche so I'm sure he'll be able to sustain his current viewership but I doubt that he has what it takes (or the desire) to become one of the movers or shakers of the sc2 community.

I'm kind of curious how Destiny is supposed to branch out of his current role. Like is he going to cast tournaments?

Casting is the obvious choice. That is where the money is and the best opportunity to increase his profile in the community. Youtube videos. Doing more interviews. More guest appearances on day9, inside the game & state of the game. Setting up small tournaments like totalbiscuit.

I think focusing so hard on his niche is going to end up hurting him in the long run. I'll sometimes try to watch his stream every once in a while when no other zergs are streaming and it seems like he rarely plays the game on his stream.

Oh man, so my buddy whose been out of town/not playing SC2 for many months is back, we decide to play some 2s. He's playing random, and is like "yea I know the basic builds", so i tell him to 4gate when I see he's toss.

He finishes it at like, 8-9 min? I'm like >.< but we were playing against silvers who didn't attack so I muta raped there base. They literally did not attack/expo/anything.

Did I used to be this bad? I feel like it's only taken me ~2-3 weeks of playing and watching TL to get to plat/diamond level. Like at the 15ish minute mark I'm maxed out and he has like 80 supply on 2 base and a gold as toss.
