Was on arid desert, which is like the same thing as xnc but with 2 extra bases sorta? I have no idea which maps to veto as vs zerg how are you supposed to ffe on that map?

So, me and a friend who are near masters 2v2, we decide to do our placement match to see if we get masters. We really don't care if we lose or get cheesed. We're just having fun. Normally, we have a good chemistry and we're on vent, friend is T and decides to not wall off for us, which is cool. Whatever, we're doing a std build of like 1rax/expo and 3 gate blink. So anyways, we're building a way, just making stuff. Early lings show up, so I chrono zealots and we both pull workers, because we see a zealot. Obv double cheese, and for some reason I am super lagged, my units were taking 2-3 seconds to respond to anything. Under normal circumstances we crush this, but we don't. They are talking mad trash the whole time while killing our buildings(lol). So, scv just lifts off and flies his buildings around while bunkering up and making siege tanks, just dragging the game out an extra 15 minutes before lifting off. So, we fly around taking turns randomly pausing it. Game would sit there 30-40 seconds before they realized it was paused. Game lasts like 25 minutes real time, because of the pauses, we're just laughing in vent.

I'm gonna do 5 games a day this season, 1v1's.
2-3 tonight- 0 points.

won first 2, then lost next 3.

6-10 so far this season. Diamond again.

Most of my losses are me attempting terrible all-ins that arrive like 15 minutes late and die in 2 seconds to the opposing army.

ive held far more hands in the last 6 weeks than i have played games of sc2 and let me tell you looking back at 3 months ago that's quite a feat

gonna get back into it after the turn of the year. still will be working, but it'll be 20 hrs/week work + 4 classes early semester (meaning no work) so i can put in some decent volume methinks.

after this long layoff i think this is a pretty good time to fix mechanical stuff i never could before. prob will try to switch my hatch hotkey to 4, solidify some sort of inject method, actually spread creep and use 3 army hotkeys constantly. if i can fix all these things, there's no reason i cant contend for real high masters next season (assuming i can unrustify myself after 6 weeks off but just judging from the few games ive played vs GGI and Trump a few days ago, it shouldnt take too long)

2 of mine are bad from macro

Like, I saw a zerg do like 10-11 pool and then 14 hatch, so I jump to 1 gate expo
well, he cancels hatch and just all ins me. Pulls drones and everything, I lose

Another was a terran, I decide to 1 base - 3 gate chargelot/sentry/archon/dt combo

Just as I arrive to his base, cloak bansheeeeeeeeeee, so I lose

And then I blind 1 gate expo'ed vs terran who 3 raxed me, I didn't produce enough units, but I was floating a ton, I could have held with better macro

i sort of want to test this hypothesis on my alt account, but dont want to ruin my mechanics while im trying to unrustify myself:

if i did nothing but make drones with reckless abandon, expand "normally" and then build the standard unit comps at the standard attack timings in ZvT and ZvP... would i have above a 50% winrate vs. master's players? meaning no scouting at all. would instantly die to stuff like 2 port lolshee and marine/scv all-ins (altho if it's a cosmo scv/marine all-in i prob hold), but beat any standard 2 base tank/marine play.

my thought is yes AINEC.

Start off new season as random, get protoss all 3 games, and win all 3.

according to bnet my last ladder game played approx. 6 weeks ago was as terran vs. a masters protoss and i won. i must have been raging something fierce to roll terran on ladder.

So for the new season if someone is slightly favored over me, is that taking into account just the games we've played this season, or is it our rolling mmr carried over from previous seasons?

Same :/ I crushed my opponent though so I knew I didn't beat someone above me. Roflstomped my first 3 opponents after my placement and they were all slightly favored against me. I know that doesn't mean anything on its own but going back to last season I just can't imagine not being promoted soon based on the way things have been going. Either way I'm having a blast with this game. Can't get enough!
