Lol just had an amazing game. We ended up losing both our bases. Any advice would be nice btw

Very realistic scenario: 10 stalkers with 1/0 upgrade and 1 colossus vs 10 mutas with 1/0 upgrade. If the mutas snipe the colossus and back out, you'll kill 4 mutas, costing 400/400 while the colossus was 300/200. Going stalker colossus sentry zealot is a very strong build against muta/ling. You'll easily win a battle. The only thing Zerg has on you is mobility which he can use to harass.

edit: the 10 vs 10 test I ran was done with focus fire and you need 11 shots to kill a muta so that was actually very very favorable for the mutas.
its more likely that the zerg surrounds with the lings and then just focuses down the stalkers. If the lings die then who cares, and while the stalkers are busy with the lings you will be able to kill them and have enough mutas left over to kill any collosus

the problem is while mutas may be more expensive, muta + ling is much cheaper than stalker + sentry + collosus, and zergs advantage lies in the ability to macro well and [re]build up an army quickly. they can mass up tons of lings no problem, all the while containing hard with whatever mutas they have... even if you destroy their entire ling force with your stalker/sentry/collossi army, its not that hard for zerg to remass lings/switch to building roaches

god why does my internet keep dropping. I tried out an 18 pool in a random 4v4. I ended up kicking ass but my freaking internet drops. Now I'm praying that my teammates will win without my help

been getting bored with zerg so i've been randoming it up on ladder for the past few days.... -150 pts...

PvP is the lamest game ever
TvZ is impossible to me
PvZ is very hard
TvP isn't so bad, just spam MMMARAUDERS!!
PvT is also very hard for me, although i usually win if i can make it past the 10 min mark or so
TvT = fun

TvZ is currently my favorite match up. It is so much fun getting 50 marines and 10 siege tanks and then slowly moving them towards the zerg base (sieging/unsieging slowly across the map so I don't get my rines destroyed by banelings). I move them slowly up and split the zerg in half placing my tanks/rine ball right in between his natural and third. Basically I have to survive wave after wave of everything the zerg can throw at me while attempting to heal all my units with medivacs/SCVs.

TvT is probably the most stressful early game match up because there are so many viable TvT openings. The games are either super short with the first early harass doing a ton of damage or else the game turns into a massive siege tank positioning battle which is usually pretty fun.

TvP is alright I'm in the process of finding a new strategy for this match up so obviously I've been losing a lot lately against P. Protoss is a lot of fun to harass early on though.

Meh 4v4 player search system is a joke. I'm in gold and I had 3 bronze mates and in the other team there were 4 golds and we were slightly favored.. lol

beat: -16 points.... I'm like FFFUUUU now. Wonder if I should I play 100 more games ranked 1st in my division to get up into platinum or to lose back into mid gold..

Team games are such a joke, it takes no skill to get to diamond. I look a guy up I play against that's talking ****. He's in diamond in 3s but silver in 1s over a decent sample. I don't get it. lol

It seems like the Monday Funday mass one unit strat works if the game is passive enough. It's just stupid. I don't mind 2v2 so much, but 3v3 and 4v4 are just unplayable for me.

I've actually been playing only 4v4 RT the past few weeks and having a blast. Your allies are terrible even at high diamond but your opponents are just as bad so it evens out. And there is nothing more fun than macroing up a 200 food 3/3 army and roflstomping all 4 of your opponents.

I for some reason prefer 3v3s and 4v4s over 2v2s just for the lolmassunits. I think I've played 6 random 2v2s in my life. No idea why I haven't got round to playing 2v2s.


Also 4v4s are a joke, even I'm a diamond in them.

It always turns into either some 3 or 4 way all in early push or tech to mass carriers/bcs/whatever. That's not fun.

And everyone is allergic to scouting. Like in a 4v4 if you are the only one scouting, you might see 2 bases but by the time you get to the third it's too late or you can't get in.

the part where its heading into mid game and it's colossi v hydras and huk is just melting lalush's units, to the point where the minerals lost is something like 7000 v 1000 and lalush still has this incredible army that could probably overtake huk's if he spread his creep and wasn't microing like a 4 year old. what other matchup could be that lopsided on 2 bases that early on and the guy who lost 7000 minerals not lose within the next 5 minutes?

He kept getting within range of the colossi without being able to attack.

Pure hydra isn't advisable against colossi. You're doing something wrong if he's killing your units with just colossi.

1. you guys think lalush played this correctly? keep sending units to die by lazer?

2. my point is that in what other matchup can one player be down 5000 minerals in units lost and the game not be essentially over 10 minutes into the game? its ******ed that you can micro so poorly like lalush did here and just shrug your shoulders as you build 20 units to replace those over the next 35 seconds.

No, but he was forced to be reactionary. Probably makes it look worse than it was.

I think it was pretty much over though. Huk was pretty far ahead.

why is it dumb "now"? zerg has always been able to make a bunch of units very quickly. that has nothing to do with the recent patch. isn't that the whole point of the zerg race? strength in numbers.

yes the difference in minerals lost was huge but you have to remember huk opened w/ a ton of sentries which are gas heavy so that didn't accurately depict the damage done. of course huk was ahead but the corruptors saved the day sniping all the colossi and corrupting half the protoss army while the roaches/hydras cleaned it up.
