Keep playing, you've obviously lost a ton of matches, beating a rank 1 bronze doesn't mean anything. His MMR could be ridiculously low. When you start getting matched up vs silvers and you're even or favored, then you can expect a promotion soon

Fair enough.

I don't think I've played a single 1v1 where I've been the favorite. Plenty I've been even, but I know I've never seen myself favored.

Yeah, the switch is when you're playing a league above and you're even/favored. Especially higher ranked league above.

How can you tell which ladder is ranker higher? Or is it just relative to the position you have on the ladder, as in a 10th ranked player should be fav over a 15th ranked player on another ladder?

position on the ladder doesnt really matter, that just shows the amount of games youve played. the hidden MMR is what determines who is higher ranked. Just think of it like this... if you start winning against people in a higher league than you consistently, promotion incoming ^^

Sometimes, you can get bugged and your confidence buffer isn't set if you win too many games in a row. You potentially could be due for a promotion, but it doesn't happen until you lose a game. It's a flawed system, but whatever. The whole idea of hidden MMR is pretty dumb. The calculations are pretty dumb behind it too.

Got put in gold league after placement matches, its pretty fun making muta/ling work vs zealot/archon.... Christ I'm bored of microstakes SC2

3 things I've noticed that have changed from when I used to play and now:

The average skill level of gold/plat is almost on par with mid diamond back in Q1 2011

There is so little cheese on ladder compared to before.

I seem to vs roughly 80% protoss, 18% zerg, and 2% terran. I've played about 50 ladder games and only played vs terran once.

Thanks to Zefa and Landlord for teaching me FFE-7 gate. Ive tried it on the ladder and gotten crushed the first couple of times ive done it. Mainly by mass roach and hydras, but once by a speedling run by. I'm sure I'm just super late getting the gas/warptech/warp ins.

Every game has been on metal so I don't know how or if you can fully wall it off
